Comedian (and climate change advocate) Jon Stewart seems to think vanishing coal jobs that force miners to find new jobs is funny. So funny in fact, he thinks they should go and work for the NFL
.because, you know, being a coal miner and a football player in the NFL are so similar.

You forgot twit, twerp and twat.
“John Stewart is a comedian? Since when?”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Well, don’t be too hard on him, on a GOOD day he MIGHT be funnier than an Ebola outbreak.
I don’t think Leibowitz understands that the phone he is tweeting on was made by burning coal in China.
A lot of wood, coal, and petroleum has been consumed to get to the point where we are now, technologically. The next big innovation will come someday, but on the shoulders of that energy. I don’t get how idiots like him can’t comprehend that.
“Comedian? That would be saying Rosie ODonnell is an actress!”
////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Even worse, it would be more like saying Rosie is a lovely vision of perfect womanhood.
They had to anyway because the oxides of sulfur from burning coal was literally damaging buildings and poisoning lakes (it was essentially a gaseous form of sulfuric acid, and we all know how corrosive this acid is).
Failed actor Jon Stewart Leibowitz is so stupid, he didn’t realize that Obama was lying about Obamacare. Stupid libs can’t deny it now....
Did you mean “WHY doesn’t.....”
Proofreading is usually NOT a waste of time, and the reader can more easily understand what you meant without guessing at it.
P.S. NOBODY needs to proofread more than I....and sometimes even THEN I’ll overlook a typo. (Just a friendly suggestion).
Where would this great country be without coal for energy when U.S. started to expand and became an industrial nation. John Stewart better start reading American history and realize this great nation did not start in Hollywood or on TV or with so called comedians.
Come to think of it, today's liberals don't even seem to bother pretending to represent the interests of blue collar workers anymore - most of them are too white, too patriotic, and too conservative. That's why they need to be replaced with a more docile caste of third world migrant laborers.
No, I think you were correct the first time; that “meating” would be a bloody mess!
I’m sorry, I didn’t realize he was a comedian.
I heard on the radio last week that there was 180 operating coal mines in WV in 2010, today there are 98. The Obama regime under the EPA is working hard to destroy the economic base of a great deal of rural Appalachia, which has significant challenges to begin with. We must remember that they are smarter than we are with private schools and Ivy League educations, while we are merely products of public education and state colleges.
Yes.. thank you.. should’ve read “WHY”.
You should be very careful in picking fights with coal miners, because some of them are very strong.
Charles Bronson started out as a coal miner, at $1/ton, and won bar bets by putting his thumb and pinky finger in a shot glass, lifting it up by them, then breaking the glass by pulling them apart.
Perhaps all a coal miner would have to do is shake Jon Stewart’s hand. It would be in a cast for months.
O'Reilly, when you lie down with the garbage you get up with the cockroaches.
Leni
There’s lots of ‘hollers’ in southern WV that don’t get visited too often ... It sure would be a shame if he got lost in one and couldn’t find his way out.
Ever.
That guy puts 120VAC nicely distributed throughout my house.
Jon Stewart ... hasn’t done a damn thing for me.
Ever.
Actually it comes in at 220-240v and is 2 phase A-B and common. But I get your point.
And no disrespect intended to any of the other professionals and tradesmen who convert coal deposits hundreds of miles away into voltage at my wall socket.
