Amazing how NEITHER PARTY heard the American public in this mid-term election. The Republicans are giving us the same weak-kneed RINO-led leadership and the Democrats are still giving us the corrupt and unbending leadership they had last month. Meanwhile, the White House pretends the election results were an outlier and all of his people stayed home.

Nothing changed, folks.

No. It’s like nominations for President. They fight it out behind closed doors, and then after it is resolved with a winner, everyone votes for the winner of aforementioned fight - making it THEN unanimous.

I’m sure that Sullivan and Cassidy got to vote; parties generally allow party members who *might* be elected vote on party leadership when the vote is scheduled for a date on which contests haven’t been called. I know that Johnny Tacherra (who is in a tight House race in CA-16 that likely will go into a recount) is in DC right now attending meetings for incoming congressmen.

A few years ago a Democrat was elected to a House Democrat leadership position by one vote, and someone who didn’t end up winning the election had cast the deciding vote.

Amazing how NEITHER PARTY heard the American public in this mid-term election.

Because Oligarchies are not accountable to the People.

Tyranny under the guise of benevolance is above the din of the little people who do not know what is best for them.

The bulk of the American people have not figured out where we have arrived yet.

Too late to stop it now. We have already been fundamentally transformed, and horror is what awaits us in the near future - as history clearly teaches.

Actually, one thing did change. The GOP establishment knows that they can run against conservatism, and still win. This means that they no longer need to even pretend, at this point. The conservatives in both the house and the senate will be further marginalized, since at this point, the establishment GOP will know that they can overtly conspire with their ideological brethren on the other side of the aisle, and there will be no consequence.

Elections do matter. And, in this case, that is unfortunate.

Color me not surprised.

I did not vote for the sell out SOB.

Keep your powder dry people, Obola has been given the green light.

It may be a little early to make this prediction, but if Harry’s Bitch and the rest of them do what I have predicted and expected, we will see a major hit on Republican numbers in congress in 2016, along with another Democrat in the White Hut.

This was our LAST chance. And they are going to fritter it away.

We trade one tyrant for another tyrant. Woo! Woo!

We have a Country that is subject to the whim of three people and a corrupt court system.

1Sa 8:5 And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.

1Sa 8:6 But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD.

1Sa 8:7 And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.

1Sa 8:18 And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the LORD will not hear you in that day.

Reminds me of the election year (actual date escapes me) that representatives vowed to “build a border fence” before the election.

That was GW that had Kay Baily put the money into an appropriation bill, then Kay Baily Hutchinson withdrew her amendment after the election.

Republicans have their chance and if they fail

It won't matter anymore, The Shining City on a Hill, will be relegated to fairy tale status.

Jeez. That means even Cruz voted for the turtle.

Likely they didn't have an actual vote. Someone probably asked for election by acclimation and someone seconded it, then the shouting began and they eyes were declared to have it.

uhmmm... are you really surprised? McConnell announced months ago that he had the votes to be majority leader in the new congress.

There was never any doubt or question he would the majority leader. If you noticed, no one even announced that they would run for majority leader, so I am a little confused as to why anyone is surprised.

That is the best phrase I have seen in a long, long time. I think I am going to steal it. It says alot in just a few words.

This is normal. The caucus always gather shortly after the election to vote for their leaders, then they make it official on the first day of the new session. They can’t do it any other way. This gives the new leadership time to plan, etc. Any intramural battles are settled out of public view.

I was wondering if someone would point that out.

I’ll give him a pass here. I think even he doesn’t want to be THAT much of a “rebel” or “dissenter” or whatever other name he’s branded with now.

After all the fix is really in for this one. I see it as a wise “pick your battles” kind of thing.

Besides what’s the alternative? To believe even Cruz has fallen under the DC spell? Might as well just pack it in if that’s the case.
