Isn't it true that even if the House and Senate vote to repeal the law - Obama will surely Veto it. When he does that, the Senate lacks the ability to override the veto - and so we're stuck with it.
At least until there's a GOP President and both houses are controlled by the GOP, yes? Which may not be for a long, long time.
All I do know, is that the ACA forces a lot of additional costs and expenses on businesses. Luckily for mine, we have the means to deal with it. But I work for a mid-size company. I know the ACA has killed or prevented jobs from being added and I know first hand that it has defined certain jobs differently.
I'd like to hear an "expert pundit" put odds on this law as to whether it will ultimately stick or not. I'm also not much of a handicapper, but I have a feeling we'll be stuck with this for a long time.
First You Tube link to Gruber bragging about lying to stupid American Voters about ObozoCare.
GRUBER: “Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage.”

Second Video link to Gruber bragging about how stupid American voters are/were to pass ObozoCare.

I agree with you. Unless we get a handful of Rats to jump ship to override his veto . . .
And with this Gruber guys videos . . . but the Hear No Evil Speak No Evil and See No Evil networks aren’t reporting it so the LIV won’t even know . . . probably not even care.
Maybe John Roberts will have grown a pair since last ruling?
Not holding my breath on any of it. I’d be dead by now IF I had over the past several years.
The fourth thing that may help kill it are the Jonathan Gruber statements elaborating on the “stupidity of the American people” and lack of transparency working in favor of the laws passage and implementation. If these incidents are given wider coverage (and I am not hopeful) more and more people will begin to comprehend that Obamacare is just a part of a very corrupt administration.
I’m becoming convinced that Gruber was correct in his “stupid” assessment.
We’ll see if Obamacare collapses due to citizen (does that word mean anything anymore) desires, or due to the fact that there’s no way it can be sustained?
Medicare is unconstitutional.
But then so is social security.
Oh well.
Similarity to Medicare.
Anybody hear of anyone forced to buy Medicare?.
This business of handing out “subsidies” (undoubtedly to those who are politically favored) is disgusting and totally un-American.
i am amazed tnat i read such a striaght forward neutral list with amazement. How often do you see msm put forth obvious, neutral points? I am sensing a shift in reporting.
When SCOTUs kills it, Obama will have a whipping boy
He willbe free of the albatross and blameless
Am I missing something? Didn’t Justice Roberts rule that failure to comply to the ACA that the Administration could not “fine” but rather TAX the offending party.
I must be missing something, because there is not a law in the land that supports being TAXED for something not purchased. Especially, something one had no intention of ever purchasing.
Obama care is as empty as the ‘one’ ......
My question on SCOTUS....seem most folks feel Roberts was blackmailed. Ok, let’s say that is true. Why has the right not found what he was being blackmailed about and expose it and end this as a option for the left??
Medicare was accepted, in part, because it was small enough that its distortions of the market were slow enough they could be ignored until people were used to it. Obamacare is a wrecking ball that not only distorted but killed parts of the market ahead of implementation.
Excerpt from:
http://www.archives.gov/exhibits/charters/constitution_transcript.html
Section. 7.
All Bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills
Every Bill which shall have passed the House of Representatives and the Senate, shall, before it become a Law, be presented to the President of the United States; If he approve he shall sign it, but if not he shall return it, with his Objections to that House in which it shall have originated, who shall enter the Objections at large on their Journal, and proceed to reconsider it. If after such Reconsideration two thirds of that House shall agree to pass the Bill, it shall be sent, together with the Objections, to the other House, by which it shall likewise be reconsidered, and if approved by two thirds of that House, it shall become a Law. But in all such Cases the Votes of both Houses shall be determined by yeas and Nays, and the Names of the Persons voting for and against the Bill shall be entered on the Journal of each House respectively. If any Bill shall not be returned by the President within ten Days (Sundays excepted) after it shall have been presented to him, the Same shall be a Law, in like Manner as if he had signed it, unless the Congress by their Adjournment prevent its Return, in which Case it shall not be a Law.
If the liberals on the court were smart, they would kill the ACA to save the Democrats. As it trickles out, each election cycle will bring another group of outraged voters as they get the bad news of changes affecting them. This is the gift that keeps on giving.
Republicans sadly will not, repeal Obamacare, yes they will pass a token repeal which will be vetoed... but lets just fast forward to 2016 and assume Republicans get the white house too, I doubt with every fiber of my being they will actually fully repeal the mess.
I would love to say I am wrong about that, but I have zero confidence they will dump the law in its entirety, when they know it would be signed and not vetoed.
We shall see. The longer this thing exists in any form, the less likely it will be fully repealed, regardless of how the public feels.
“First, Republicans...
Second, the Obama admin...
Third and probably most....”
They forgot...
Fourth, the chief architect of Obamacare admitted that a lack of transparency and stupid Americans were key to passing the law.
Obamacare cannot survive.
