This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO (Congressional Budget Office) did not score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies. So its written to do that, Gruber said, suggesting it would not have passed if the law made it explicit that healthy people would pay in and the sick would get money.
Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage, Gruber continued. Call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical to get the thing to pass. I wish ... we could make it all transparent. But Id rather have this law than not.
Gruber, when reached by phone yesterday, said repeatedly, I have no comment.

Liberalism requires stupid people. Over the past 40 years the democrats have Gruberized their base.
I would guess Gruber is feeling defensive about the democrat losses.
Classic narcissistic injury, with the equally classic retaliation by calling everyone stupid.
Bottom line: Gruber’s not that smart.
Democrats are always able to celebrate being liars and lowlifes... the rest of us are growing to hate them...
No one likes democrats.
That’s why democrats are so upset the ‘beneficiaries’ of their lies not bothering to show up to vote. The underclass doesn’t appreciate white liberal elites either.
Answer me this randita - does the angry lowlife sleeping on his bother in laws couch really ‘admire’ his sister’s husband for giving him alms? That’s how the poor feel about democrats.
But what can this result in? Can legal action of any kind be taken? It’s frustrating to have outright lies exposed, and it goes nowhere.
I can’t help but think of Joe Wilson. He should publicly rescind his apology.

No one likes democrats... that’s why so many stayed home.
That's right, and the Right has a golden opportunity here, but they are squandering it IMO.
Obama is correct when he says the Right offers no clear alternative to Obamacare. Has the Right forgotten about freedom and the free market economy which is freedom in action? Does the Right still believe in freedom and the free market which made America the wealthiest and most powerful nation on earth? I'm not sure.
The Right must be explicit, loudly and often, in offering and explaining the obvious, traditional American alternative to oppressive, coercive big government socialism: the voluntary cooperation of the FREE MARKET ECONOMY, the only source and creation of wealth for a society.
The course for the Right and for America is clear: cut the $4,000,000,000,000 unconstitutional federal government by 80% (=$800 billion, still too big, but it's a start) and put the market economy free of government interference back into its wealth-creating operation. Oh, and cut taxes to flat 10% across the board, thus defanging, defunding, and scrapping most of the IRS.

Your post assumes that the current GOP leadership is of “the Right” of which you speak.
Whoever the Right is, they need to shout this stuff from the mountaintops. Enough with the constant negativity and cursing the darkness of the Left and big government.
Time to spell out the answers in clear terms that the American People will understand and embrace like they, both Republican and Democrats, did when Reagan offered clear alternatives.

As a liberal Democrat, he might also be partial to Donkey Whizz Ale.
Made me laugh.
Any lawyers know...has this guy been deposed in any of the Obamacare court cases....and if his testimony differs from these public statements:
1) Can he at least get a public hand slapping
2) Would it be cause for a judge at some level to review a decision - especially decision that thwarted a case from moving forward.

This is like the leaking of the Ray Rice video.
Everyone in positions of political power knew the ACA was built on lies, but now they can no longer feign ignorance.
Gruber will have to take one for the team... he’s in for a rough stretch.
Leftist ideology has always accounted for and relied on legions of “useful idiots” to be the true believers who support the duplicitous Machiavellians who lead them.
That’s why everyone watches FOX. Most people like to hear all the news, not just some of the news.

As an American I am not so shocked that Obama was given the Nobel Peace Prize without any accomplishments to his name, because America gave him the White House based on the same credentials. ~Newt Gingrich
Perfect Quote
Some people have the vocabulary to sum up things in a
way that you can quickly understand them. This quote
came from the Czech Republic. Someone over there has
it figured out. It was translated into English from an
article in the Prague newspaper Prager Zeitungon:
The danger to America is not Barack Obama, but a
citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the
Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the
follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the
necessary common sense and good judgment to a
depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their
president. The problem is much deeper and far more
serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what
ails America. Blaming the prince of the fools should not
blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made
him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack
Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely
to survive a multitude of fools, such as those who made
him their president.
