Glenn Beck reveals major health issues

(CNN) -- Glenn Beck shared Monday a secret he's kept from almost everyone for years: He's been battling a serious and rare illness.

"It has baffled some of the best doctors in the world. It has frightened me and my family, as we didn't know what was happening," the conservative radio and TV host said on TheBlaze, a network he founded.

Eventually, he learned what was wrong: he had a variety of ailments, including an autoimmune disorder and adrenal fatigue.

Beck said he struggled to remember names, faces and conversations. At other times, his hands would shake and he would be forced to curl up into a ball. "While I was at Fox, the pain would get so bad that my camera crew, our executive producer Tiffany and I, had worked out hand signals so they would know when to take the camera off of me," Beck said.

"We didn't know at the time what was causing me to feel as though, out of nowhere, my hands and feet, or arms and legs would feel like someone had just crushed them, set them on fire or pushed broken glass into them."

Beck said he rarely slept, but was never tired.

Money covers a multitude of sins...but not that many. About the time “Prepper Glenn Get In The Bunker” shows up, I’d be popping smoke.

My personal theory is that he moved from CT to TX and decided to rent rather than own his home (and throw whatever equity he has into his business) is because it severely limited his wife’s choices in divorce court.

But hey, that’s just me. I think the guy is certifiably nuts, but he ropes me into listening...so take it for what it’s worth. Wish we had more grounded people to listen to in the media.

Many people do that. A certain amount of stress is necessary in life to keep us going, but too much will cause all sorts of illnesses.

I find Glenn has a depth that most talk show hosts don’t, and I find he’s usually right. Sometimes,he gets a little “jokey”, like the former Morning Zoo DJ. But that’s tolerable.

It might have. NutraSweet, which is used to sweeten most diet sodas, is seriously dangerous to about 1 percent of the people. It gave me seizures. Apparently, Glenn is also one of this group.

Which is what his doctors were telling him. Some diminution of vision is apparently a symptom of his condition.

You know I think you would be hard pressed to find anyone who was not sleeping and was therefore tired a lot and then required a lot of sleep. The whole thing is silly as hell and smacks of poor me, look at me. Which by the way what I get about him from almost every story I read concerning him. Hey your a Beck fan I get that.

What I find interesting is his absolute faith that something good is coming from this.

I think he owns now, however. I catch him for about 15 minutes bringing my son to school in the mornings. He was blabbing on about his house being 100% solar this morning.

I liked him at one time, when he seemed he was connecting all the globalist dots. I even subscribed to the Blaze for a year and, actually, two when they charged my CC for the second year.

Now, I am mostly fascinated by just what a lunatic he is.

I think, at the heart of it, he doesn't want to do this political stuff anymore but it's where the $$ is. He wants to tell stories in character and talk about himself.

Honestly, my guess is he sees a opening where Oprah was and he knows there is money to be made with over emoting women and he wants to fill that void. He seems to be moving in that direction. Some sort of Oprah, Joel Olsteen type figure. I guess he doesn't know Huckabee already tried that.

I bet he ends up divorced. No one could tolerate that level of instability forever --especially when she knows she can walk and take a nice chunk of change with her. She better hurry though, cuz the smart money says he dies broke.

I stopped listening when it became all about him, too.

This fame has gone to his head so that he really thinks his listeners want to know more about him. And if someone doesn't get back to what he was doing his empire will come crumbling down.

He built it and they came, but then he switched it to something else.
