~The FReeper Canteen Presents~ Veterans Day, November 11, 2014 Thank You for placing yourself between us and danger. Thank you to your sons and daughters, children who accept your absence in their life and understand they share you with the nation and sometimes the whole world. Thank you to all the parents of our Soldiers and Veterans who have nothing but prayers to protect their child and keep them safe in bad times, and must now trust you will be safe, and that we offer our prayers to you. Thank you for serving and giving a heroic example of who we are and what we can dream to be. Thank you for your spouses who find themselves living a very nomadic life, often far away from the support of your loved ones from your family. Thank you for continuing to support your country once you leave military service by following new careers and becoming teachers, clergy, business owners, employees, pilots, civil servants and so much more. We are proud of the service you are giving and have given to protect us and our Country, and proud to say you Thank You. FR CANTEEN MISSION STATEMENT~Showing support and boosting the morale of our military and our allies military and the family members of the above. Honoring those who have served before.
Please remember: The Canteen is a place to honor and entertain our troops. The Canteen is family friendly. Let's have fun! We pray for your continued strength, to be strong in the face of adversity. We pray for your safety, that you will return to your families and friends soon. We pray that your hope, courage, and dignity remain unbroken, so that you may show others the way. God Bless You All ~ Today, Tomorrow and Always |

Maestro, you brought this thread to Attention with your post of our National Anthem - I hope you will indulge me as I post this rendition of Verse Four this evening.
GOD BLESS AND PROTECT OUR TROOPS AND OUR BELOVED NATION!
The Star Spangled Banner Verse Four (Click)
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand Between their loved home and the war's desolation! Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: "In God is our trust." And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Please let me know by Freepmail if you would like to be admitted to or released from my music ping list

Among my prized possessions is a letter my Father wrote home to me from Korea. Interestingly, he signed it "Daddy."
During the first four years of my life, when he was going to St. Joseph's and then when he went to Korea, I lived with my Great-grandmother, Grandmother, Mother and a couple of my Great Uncles. They always referred to him as my "Father" and neither I nor my younger siblings ever addressed him as anything but "Father."
