I was watching “The Autobiography Of Nicolae Ceausescu” and what struck me forcefully was how a young man who was genuinely adored by his people turned into a soulless monster over time.
There is something about leftist/communist philosophies that corrupts people and turns them into people who believe the means justify the end. When your only ethics is power then things go straight down the road to hell. You may have all the ideals and best intentions in the world but being ignorant of the consequences involved in them can lead to one’s ruin.
That’s why I conclude such philosophies can never work. It never worked in communist countries and it won’t work in America.
I think the cause is just plane old rejection. The commies get this vision of utopia that is unglued from reality and then throw a hissy fit when their wonderful (failed) ideas are rejected.
Communist or Capitalist, it is power that corrupts. Which is why we need to vote out those that have been there too long and vote in new blood that does not possess power.
It’s pretty easy to tell you why they believe the means justifies the ends.
There’s a ratio of “costs/goal” that people automatically measure in their minds when they make decisions. If this ratio gets above a certain threshold, then the goal is not worth the costs.
The left defines their goal as perfection, ie, infinity,
so ANY means/costs are justified in order to reach it.
