Putting his own spin on the election results that saw gains for conservative candidates throughout much of the nation, state NAACP President Rev. William Barber said Tillis' "narrow victory" was a repudiation of his policies, not a validation of them.
Barber said there were widespread reports of voting problems the State Board of Elections said the election ran rather smoothly and the shortened early-voting period and the elimination of same-day registration affected thousands of North Carolina voters.
"The magnitude of the problem may not be far from the margin of victory (for Tillis)," he said.
The NAACP planned to send letters to Tillis and Gov. Pat McCrory later in the day, asking them for a sit-down meeting to discuss backing off "extremist policies" and becoming more inclusive in their governing.

“That’s alot of product.”
Barber is our version of Al Sharpton. I don’t think he has any other reason to exist except to protest against Republicans.
NC is the place to be. In spite of the influx of thousands of New England Yankees and their politics, of the solid block of black votes for the democrats, it has Republican (mostly conservative) house, senate and governor. They have done wonders transforming NC enacting bills which moves the state more and more to the right. We just ousted a Obama clone senator and replaced her with the speaker of the NC house who knows how to move people to the right. The Barbers are screaming, the media is weeping, but the job is getting done. Come back to NC!!
I had the good fortune to attend a breakfast with Senator Tillis just 5 days before he was elected Senator. Got to meet him, talk with him, and got a good picture with him.
NAACLP: Tillis won because of racism.
Is that what Charlie Rangel said yesterday?
at the NC polls each person coming in to vote was told that a photo ID would be required next year and each was asked if they had one. Everyone around me said “yes,” so I don’t know what was said to anyone saying no. I recognized one poll worker as a conservative republican but haven’t seen her since the 4th. I will inquire. There were also some posters around informing people that photo ID would be required next year.
Don’t forget Will Hurd from Texas.

AMEN! I have lived in NC for every one of my 64 years. We have some of the best universities in the nation, excellent medical facilities, and I work for one of the most outstanding community college systems in the USA. We have the pristine beaches where I live, the rolling hills of the piedmont, and the beautiful mountains to the west. We had the good sense to vote out the corrupt Democrat regime in 2012 and now to send Kay Hagan home where she cannot do any more damage. (As one of the richest members of the Senate, she can afford to retire.) I would not want to live anywhere else on earth!!
That’s ridiculous, everybody knows he won because two thirds of the people didn’t vote ... /sarc
Not to mention the way the election system/process/places and dates were kept so dang secret that some folks might have had only a year or so to get ready to vote...
