Arrowhead (John) fell off a 20 ladder at work, onto his head, and has a severe brain injury!
Broke all the bones in his face and skull, broke his shoulder blade and some ribs.
His last post was 10/20 in the morning. He fell about 2pm that same day and was LifeFlighted to the hospital; then, after about 6 hours of surgery, he went directly to ICU. It was touch and go for days in critical condition.
After 2 weeks in ICU he has been transferred to a Specialty Neurological Rehab center in Austin, as of 11/3.
He can move his arms and legs, so no spinal injury, but he is not cognizant. Sometimes he can respond to can you squeeze my hand?, sometimes not. His daughter is getting ready to go back home.
The nurses are calling them every day. Small improvements are noticed, such as he sat up for 10 seconds today, but no one has a prognosis. Brain injuries heal how they heal, when the heal, if they heal....3 to 6 months at least.
PRAY HARD, please!!!! And spread the word to your prayer lists.
I join in earnest prayer for him!
(Keep the Faith, my friends! We are the saviors of the Republic! Now and Forever!)

Prayers up!
Just got home from work, am working on plans to come see you.
I love you.
KiA said upthread that she found a phone number for John somewhere and reached one of his family members on it.
Kathy, can you call that family member again and find out where we can send get well cards?
Thanks.
I should add that John works for a very solid company and will bear no financial hardships on top of the injuries.
He does have inherited family farming interests that he will probably need help with, as they are a couple miles away.
John’s a scrapper, and as long as they don’t bug him with the 5X daily ‘who is the president of the US’ like they did me, will pull clean through. I would ask his Mrs. John or Lisa to ask the doctors to NOT ask him that POTUS question. Been there, done that last year.
Thanks. If you can put the info for where to send cards up on the thread, it would be greatly appreciated.
If he sat up for 20 seconds despite all the needles and drugs they’re pumping into him, that’s a sign he wants to leave.
He just doesn’t know yet he’s going to have to undergo some exam and treatment before he can escape.
Might be a month. But the ‘hell no’ sitting up means he’s ready to fight. Again, I was in his position a year ago.
Standing up to the medical staff is a very good sign.
Prayers up.
I emailed his daughter earlier this evening.
I will let folks know when she lets me know.
No clue what the “rules” might be.
He sat up! Which ain’t easy the way they strap you down in a hospital bed. He’ll fight out of this.
Thank you Jesus, Thank You Lord, In your name I pray, Amen, bring our Brother back.
Now, that is a very hopeful sign. Thanks for the insight.
Just read of your accident and so sorry to hear this.
Heavenly Father,
We are so grateful for the freedom we have to come before you with our prayers for John....and you know him well as also his plight.
Lord, you know what it will take for him to recover and the time it will take to do so, we ask then that you would have this go along exactly as you would want and that you would give John patience and steadfast determination to co-operate fully with whatever is necessary to bring him through to the other side of this.
We thank you for the caregivers who are attending him, may each one be by your appointment as well as the Doctors who are determining his treatment. We ask also that you would assist his family members to be all that they can be for him in this...use them as your hands and heart for John.
We ask this in Jesus Great Name and may He have all the glory for the outcome.....Amen.
Hoping that he is feeling all the prayers coming his way, that he is lifted up, and will benefit from someone who “has been there”.
Sad to hear this...
Prayers.
