A lot of those low speed maneuvers are for air shows. Going slow and then into a flat spin would get you killed very quickly in combat.
I was thinking the same thing. Slow moving target, big heat signature... what could go wrong?
I do wonder about this. What if you saw some missiles coming in at distance turned and went straight at them missing them by 100 feet up or down? Could that work?
