The media have barely mentioned Mia Love or Tim Scott’s elections.

The liberals should be happy about these elections because they want us to celebrate diversity.

Mia Love adds to gender and ethnic diversity in Congress. Tim Scott adds to ethnic diversity in the Senate. There is also the historic issue of Tim Scott being elected in a state of the old Confederacy. Certainly the liberals and the NAACP would hail such an historic election.

After college, Hurd went on to work at the CIA for nearly ten years dealing with major national security issues and leading operations dealing with counterterrorism, cyber security, and other major threats.

He may be a whole lot smarter than lots of his colleagues, and certainly more knowledgeable.

Electing a sexual deviant from California who has already been accusede by two of his male staffers of sexual harassment is hardly “historic”.

Historically stupid maybe.

ooooh no none of these stories could possibly be true....after all the republicans are all racist white folks. (do I really need to add the sarcasm notation?)

I was at a luncheon with this guy. He is impressive! He is definitely leadership material in the Republican party IF he can keep his focus and avoid becoming “Washington-ized”

Hurd, who is biracial, has a mom who is white and a dad who is black.

The article fails to mention Mr. Hurd's grandmother, who is a typical white person.

Another Black Republican Made History on Tuesday, and You’ve Probably Never Heard of Him

I am continually told that 'race doesn't matter' yet it seems paramount to both sides of the aisle.

Just look at the historic diversity of South Carolina Republicans:
A black senator, An Indian governor and a gay senator.
