Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) predicts that there will be enough support for immigration reform in a GOP-led Congress.
According to the Associated Press, "Ryan said that as long as Obama doesn't try an executive order in November or December and works with Congress," immigration legislation can be enacted.

That this is their first move after victory tells you just how stupid the GOP is.
Give me my citizenship back!
They need to build the fence. Secure the borders. Deport the overstayed visa scofflaws. Fix the legal immigration system with an emphasis away from countries/peoples that don’t believe in American liberty and the republican way of government.
Then we’ll talk about the illegals.
Real immigration reform= close the border.
Ryan increased taxes with those “airline fees” he supported in the current spending plan....pathetic again....
Ryan has talked about balancing the budget ten or more years down the road....also pathetic.....
Heck, Rand Paul has at least said it can done in five years.
I say do it now.
I stood my ground this election and did not vote for RINO’s including Governor Tom Corbett who lost here in PA, the anomaly of this election.
Sadly, most folks drank the Kool Aid from the GOPe about how he got it all together here even as the credit rating agencies were downgrading the state’s credit and how the Democrat running against him was like Joe Stalin.....
But what killed Corbett in the end was the Penn State Football faithful who blamed him for the fallout of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal....
Corbett was roasted on the altar of the god “JoePa”.
And they will mark my words.....
that 2nd picture is a great graphic
it needs to go viral
What the GOP just won, and this idiot from Wisconsin thinks that constructive immigration reform will be the answer. Hey Wisconites from Janesvill Recall this big fat narcissitic piece of trash that claims he is Paul Ryan but acts more like Odummer.
Called his office, but the best thing to do is wait till his office is open at 9:00 EST to 6:00EST.
I cannot believe the utter stupidity. Finish the fence - Constructive Immigration Reform - that will work when the construction is being achieved.
Build a freaking fence, deport illegals and enforce the law.
That’s right build a fence. It’s shovel ready!
You were anti Corbett for a long time. Nothing about Penn State until yesterday when that certain article appeared. Nothing to be upset about on your end, your guy lost. Just like you wanted. Sadly for you, it was expected and totally overshadowed by the national news. Wolf will try to raise taxes but he cant do anything about the southern border
Let's just call comprehensive immigration reform amnesty and move on from there.
I'd also wager that many here would be pissed at him once they realized that we can't put every last one of them on buses and dump them in landfills on the other side of the border.
You are using the argument of the pro-amnesty crowd. They offer the false choice between mass deportation or a blanket amnesty. There are other solutions. It is called attrition thru enforcement. We know it works from our experiences in AZ and AL. The lawbreakers didn't get here overnight and they won't leave overnight.
When you reward something, you get more of it. We had a one-time amnesty in 1986. The proponents said there would never be another one and that amnesty would solve the problem. The government estimated 1 million would apply, but the true number turned out to be 2.7 million. 28 years later there are many of the same people calling for another amnesty, only this time the government estimates that 12 million are eligible.
In 1986 there was a surge of illegals once an amnesty was announced, many of them coming here on tourist visas as well as across the border. We will see a similar surge once Obama announces his executive amnesty. It won't matter what restrictions are placed on who gets legalization. In 1986, phony document mills were set up blocks from the processing centers.
Any legislation that allows the lawbreakers to stay and work here is amnesty period. This crap of paying fines, learning English, and getting to the back of the line and saying that this is not amnesty, are just using language to fool and deceive. At least, the 1986 amnesty was called amnesty.
The Heritage Foundation estimates that an amnesty will cost $6.3 trillion if only 12 million are given amnesty. And who are these lawbreakers who will be legalized? 50% of them lack even a high school degree. They will receive more in government benefits than they contribute in taxes. HOw stupid are we as a nation to give these lawbreakers work permits to compete legally against American workers for jobs while we have the lowest labor participation rates since 1977?
And electorally, immigrants vote more than two to one Dem. 87% of the 1.1 million legal immigrants who enter annually are minorities as defined by the USG.
There will be no Americans working jobs in America when they get done, if allowed to. Or at about minimum wage.
The first words out of any of these supposed right-wing politicians should be about the chances of repealing unconstitutional Obamacare. Repealing Obamacare should be the first order of business.
Commenting last night, Ryan was in those “living in the shadows” TV advertisements... that was a campaign, I know Rubio was in it, now I forget who else, Democrats, were in it as well.
” Predicted. Promised. And nearly delivered.”
Paul Ryan is another one, like Rubio and Paul, who so many FReepers fawned over. The rest of us knew he was transaparent.
” That leaves about 70-75% of us who are unalterably opposed to the invasion and will make any and all politicians who support it pay a price. I dont think Republicans are that stupid but you never know.”
The RNC “RINOplex” is INDEED that stupid, and that corrupt.
” This is what happens when you become whores for the Chamber of Cronies and AgriCorps.”
Yep
Where do YOU stand on “immigration reform” newbie?
