Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) predicts that there will be enough support for immigration reform in a GOP-led Congress.
According to the Associated Press, "Ryan said that as long as Obama doesn't try an executive order in November or December and works with Congress," immigration legislation can be enacted.

“However, more recently Ryan “has adopted a firm anti-amnesty, enforcement-first stance” on illegal immigration.[185] Ryan voted against the DREAM Act, a bill that would provide conditional permanent residency to illegal immigrants who were brought to the United States as children if they attend college or serve in the military, and meet other criteria.[174] He also voted in favor of the Secure Fence Act of 2006.[87][186] Ryan has said “we must first secure the border and stem the flow of illegal immigration, and then work to increase legal immigration through an enforceable guest worker program” before pursuing a “piecemeal” reform such as the DREAM Act.[187]”

He’s changed his tune from his original stance according to the article. Maybe he was so wealthy, he was a bit out of touch on how many Americans including myself view it.
constructive : promoting improvement or development
reform : to improve (someone or something) by removing or correcting faults, problems, etc.
he’s right e need some tough constructive reform starting with
children born to illegals not being citizens,
ending family preferences
lowering legal quotas
deporting all persons here illegally
tracking all visitors for overstays
banning muslims as members of a terrorist organization
reducing foreign aid to countries by how many illegals attempt entry form their county
eliminating entitlemnts and benefits to illegals
eliminating school and college for illegals
cutting parolees drastically
etc etc.,..
he can be primaried. Did you vote for a dem to keep Ryan from getting his bill passed?
ok, but you surely didn’t vote to give Ryan the votes necessary, did you? That’s my question. Since the consensus on Free Republic remains that Paul Ryan is pro amnesty and will get this bill passed quickly, why would you vote for anyone who would support that bill with him?
me? I wouldn’t.
Hell No....
This is the confusing thing about Free Republic. As I said, I’ve been reading here for YEARS. I went through the McCain loss, the Romney loss and now we’re seeing republicans winning an election. The liberal media is trying its best to claim that Paul Ryan, all on his own, is going to somehow get a bill passed for full amnesty and it’s being bought by so many. Makes no sense.
Please don’t get all worked up about this or anything else the libs in the media tell you. Oh, I’m sure the republicans won’t do everything correctly, but the new congress hasn’t even been sworn in
Obama is the one trying to push amnesty without a vote, please remember that.
It’s not Paul Ryan.
Constructive Immigration Reforem. Republican Amnesty. Why do Republicans so crave something that will put them in a permanently declining minority?
Why wasn’t Paul Ryan primaried out like cantor?
GOP: We won. You can’t get rid of us now.
If we had a government that acted in good faith we could talk about this.
Ryan needs to go.. never mind.
That article was dated last March, before Obama’s open border stunt. Immigration is much more complicated , now.
“I predict amnesty will lead to the end of the republican party.”
It already did in California.
The Stupid Party refuses to learn or just doesn’t care as long as they get paid for their treason.

CLOSE THE BORDERS FIRST!
Simple, clear, shrewd.
We have radar, listening posts, and all kinds of radical gadgets to watch the borders of our sprawling military bases. People have been duped into giving up on safe borders when our capability is self-evident.
Paul Ryan Doubles Down on Cutting Veteran Pensions
Not saying it's the case here, but it seems that many here, who see the words "Immigration Reform", stop reading and thinking and feel the need to trash the article/participants. We know what Cruz says about it, but I'd wager that some here would trash him if he used those words. I'd also wager that many here would be pissed at him once they realized that we can't put every last one of them on buses and dump them in landfills on the other side of the border.
VERY good point. Well said.
