To begin with, this election was, generally speaking, a rejection of the notion being advanced by many in the establishment wing of the Party that the Republicans needs to move to the Left on social issues like abortion and gay marriage. Earlier this year, GOP establishment leaders like Kevin McCarthy and Paul Ryan announced their plan to begin trying to recruit Young Gun candidates socially liberal, and often homosexual, candidates to run under the Republican banner in an effort to broaden the appeal of the Party, especially to younger, socially liberal voters. John Boehner backed this effort, throwing money at the candidates who had been recruited to run this year. However, the voters who were supposed to be impressed by the GOPs lurch to the Left on individual choice issues instead reacted with a collective yawn. In the race for the open seat in Massachusetts 6th congressional district, Young Gun Richard Tisei - a gay Republican who has a 100% rating from NARAL and Planned Parenthood, who (obviously) supports gay marriage, and who is married to his partner - lost by 15 points to a non-incumbent and relatively unknown Democrat. To give this some perspective, Tisei had ran for the same seat in 2012 against a well-known and long-time incumbent and lost by only a single point. It does not appear that Tiseis choice to flaunt his peculiar lifestyle choice did him or the GOP any favors this time around...

Wow. I get to be called a moron for opposing homosexuality on Free Republic. What do ya know.
This is a tough issue and I know my wife and I are in the minority of this. We have gay relatives and we support them.
What does that mean?
And why are you acting like a FR Cop?
You probably don't realize the extent to which you're justifying my concerns as expressed on this thread.
I reasonable person might wonder if you should be attending a 10-step group...if they took inappropriate interest in other people's private lives, that is.
Actually, ‘pervert’ might have been a better word to use.
This is a brand new thing.
I’ve never seen an open homosexual posting on FR before.
Have you?
It may not matter to you, but it matters greatly to me.
I’m a “pervert” for opposing homosexuality. Okey-dokey then.
I never mentioned her bedroom. Only her and you have done that. So perhaps it is you who should get help?
Gay marriage is not in the top 10 on issues. Number one for me is to close the border.
Okay, I guess we will agree to disagree. Sorry, I’m a fiscal, small government and constitutional conservative.
Then stop the cyber-stalking.
What a load of nonsense.
Homosexuality is the grossest of sins. And as agreed, it is a sin. As a sin, it should not be “celebrated” nor discussed, it should be kept in the closet and certainly not brought out in the open, especially to children.
A man wanting to stick his erection in the hole of another man is the worst type of perversion. The bible takes up what seems to be an inappropriate amount of interest in what happens in their bedroom. It must be because God determines it to be a special type of sickness.
It warps societies and families.
Cities have been decimated because of this sickness. God declares it to be a judgement upon people and a nation.
There is no growing up on this issue, except for the homosexual to admit his sin, come to Christ, and turn away from it.
The mental instability of homosexuals is very clear. So real conservatives dont really want to reason or discuss the virtues of homosexuality or how to win their votes.
So, I really dont care if you think this is bible thumping or not. But there is hope, I am sure you aware of it. If not, just ask.
Romans 1:..
22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.
24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creatorwho is forever praised. Amen.
26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.
28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.
Me I don't judge people. I'll let GOD judge me. He'll judge me that I don't criticize people who are different.
I just want you to know that this isn’t personal.
You’ve acted very respectfully on this thread, and I appreciate that. Your behavior has not been at all trollish, as I first assumed.
I will be praying for you.
Homosexuals exist, always have, always will. Many of them are conservative on everything but social issues, a few are even conservative on those. I am sure there are many homosexual freepers, and I am not surprised a few have come out. I personally know one other who is closeted on free republic but not in his everyday life, he is a very orthodox poster and stays away from the homosexual threads here.
The proper attitude is to allow them into our camp politically, as long as they do not advocate on issues opposed to conservatism. If a homosexual is only interested in gun rights and that is his only issue, do we chase him away? No. The problem is the agenda, not the people. Same goes for atheists or libertarians, as long as they do not push against conservatives, they should be welcomed where we are in agreement.
Religiously, from an evangelical Christian perspective, homosexuality is a grave sin, like atheism or Mormonism or Catholicism. But non of those get banned on site just for their identity, and neither should homosexuals. Witnessing is best done in a friendly tone one on one, not by banning people from political forums.

You, too, can be forgiven. The most terrible decision is to decide God is wrong on any sin (harmful act), and then pretend and proclaim that it is not a sin. Paul says to an entire list of sinners from thieves, to adulterers, to liars to homosexuals: “1 Co 6:11 And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are iustified in the Name of the Lord Jesus...”
I, too, am numbered as a sinner among those who have been “washed, sanctified”

Because Free Republic believes in the Constitution and the principles of the Founding Fathers, God is most certainly central to those ideas. America was founded based upon God-given principles, not geography or ethnicity, and in that regard we are unique among all nations.
I am Jew and have a free pass into Heaven.
I must have missed that part of the Bible. But, I guess this is probably the same twisted rationale used by George Soros.
I have been in a monogamous relationship with only 1 sexual partner my entire life.
Yet that is still an abomination in the eyes of God.
My partner spouse whatever you wish to call her receives communion every week. Yes, her Catholic Church is aware of us and we had many meetings with them about it. Her Deacon performed our commitment ceremony. We even did Evenings For the Engaged. It was not easy, we had to agree to many things for all this to happen.
Then your local bishop needs to be aware of this travesty.
Our two sons and daughter all are baptized. I just picked my sons up from RE (Religious Education).
Whose children are they actually?
I am well aware of the 1st Amendment. It protects me from government crushing my free speech rights, private entities can do as they wish. If the owner of this site wishes me gone, I have no desire to be where I am not wanted.
At least you understand that.
I have had many on FR pray for my soul but I don't think any have sought to have me removed. You definitely would be the first.
Do you even begin to understand WHY they have prayed for your soul?
I doubt the founder of this site thinks I am any some sort of a threat.
The homosexual agenda is the threat.
If anything you have awesome diversity to have a lesbian that equates abortion to the Holocaust,
The very notion that "diversity" is a necessity is absurd.
I want to ban Islam as a religion,
Which indicates that you believe, as a matter of principle, that the left would have the ability to ban Judaism and Christianity.
I probably have more guns than the average freeper
So do many anarchists seeking the violent overthrow of America.
I am opposed to the homosexual agenda as my individual liberty is far more important and not worth losing to ill conceived gains in group rights from unsavory and dangerous people.
If you were opposed to the homosexual agenda, you would have never brought up the fact that you are a practicing homosexual.
I merely offer a conservative view with a slight twist.
No, you are advocating an agenda which is contrary to conservatism.
I am not really sure how who I choose to spend my life with and raise a family prevents me from being a conservative.
Which is the same justification that ALL deviant groups (polygamists, pedophiles, etc.) will employ if the homosexual agenda is allowed to succeed.
If that scares you then I feel sorry for you.
The potential destruction of the Judeo-Christian moral principles upon which our Republic was founded scares the hell out of me and the fact that it doesn't scare you is very telling.
"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."
