Reid to Mitch McConnell: Americans Want Us to 'Work Together' (Completelu delusional)

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has reached out to his presumed successor, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, saying that he hoped they could work together “to get things done” in Washington.

In a statement, according to Mediaite, Reid said, "I’d like to congratulate Senator McConnell, who will be the new Senate Majority Leader. The message from voters is clear: They want us to work together. I look forward to working with Senator McConnell to get things done for the middle class."

McConnell’s resounding victory in Kentucky over Democratic challenger Alison Lundergan Grimes started the GOP wave on election night.

Democrats had hoped to punish McConnell for his fierce opposition to Obama’s agenda. Instead, his campaign team succeeded in linking Grimes to Obama, whose job approval numbers in the state were stuck in the low 30s.

McConnell’s strategy was encapsulated by his campaign slogan: “Obama needs Grimes, and Kentucky needs Mitch McConnell.

His victory, combined with the GOP’s success in grabbing the Senate majority, means that he’s now considered the presumptive choice to be the next Senate majority leader in January.

Reid’s spokesman Adam Jentleson acknowledged in a Twitter message that Democrats were given a thrashing by the GOP, while poking fun at Republican Scott Brown, who was defeated in New Hampshire by Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, according to The Hill.

"The fact that we got our butts kicked up and down the block only makes it 'more' hilarious that Scott Brown lost," wrote Jentleson with the hashtag "smallvictories."

Brown was one of the few Republican losses in close races on a night of joy for the GOP.

McConnell agreed.

According to Time and others, ObamaCARE, Benghazi,

I have one question, Harry: if the shoe was on the other foot, what would you do? Oh, wait, don’t bother answering, your actions already did.

Thus, my answer to you is: too late, asshole!

This is so predictable. Whenever Dems lose, they quickly demand that Republican start working with them. When Democrats say bipartisan, they really mean let’s do it my way.

Word of wisdom to the McConnell and the Senate GOPe — — — YOU DON’T NEED THE ‘RATS TO “GET THINGS DONE”.

The things to “get done” are conservative “things” and “things” that make America stronger. Believe me, the ‘RATS do not want those things and will never “work across the aisle” to help you get those things done.

Methinks that McConnell is going to have to walk back a lot of that. Much of it was stated during the campaign, and was an attempt to show how “reasonable” a Republican majority would be. Now he can walk back some of it that he didn’t mean, and be forced to walk back what his members won’t agree to. Remember, he isn’t Majority Leader YET.

Ever notice how the only time Democrats talk about “working together” and “sharing power” is right after they get their butts kicked?

And by that Mitch, I mean I still want you to be my compliant b—ch. Elections work like this, we win, we win. We lose, we win by telling you what your victory really means, and it means we win. You compromise and agree with us, got it. Just go talk to McCain, he is already on board and can explain the rules of being a model dupe. In the meantime, I will be gearing up my filibusters and dusting off my speeches on the importance of the rights of the Senate minority like blocking judicial nominees)which I know full well will get max play on all the MSM networks.

P.S. “Obstructionist Pig” get used to hearing it because you are one for not giving our Dear Leader whatever he wants.

P.P.S. Hillary ‘16!!!

I’m sure Senator McConnell will love working with you too, Harry. He just won’t have to be so quiet about it anymore.

November 21, 2013

Senate Democrats pushed through a controversial rules change known as the “nuclear option.”

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., pushed through a controversial change to Senate rules Thursday that will make it easier to approve President Obama’s nominees but threatens to further divide an already polarized Congress.

Fifty-two Senate Democrats and independents voted to weaken the power of the filibuster. The change reduces the threshold from 60 votes to 51 votes for Senate approval of executive and judicial nominees against unanimous GOP opposition. Three Democrats — Sens. Mark Pryor of Arkansas, Joe Manchin of West Virginia and Carl Levin of Michigan — opposed the change.

The rule change does not apply to Supreme Court nominees, who are still subject to a 60-vote filibuster threshold, or to legislation.

“The American people believe Congress is broken. The American people believe the Senate is broken. And I believe they are right,” Reid said Thursday on the Senate floor. “The need for change is so very, very obvious.”

Oh Harry...2013 called and they want you to “suck it!”

I can't wait for the calls now for "fair" representation on all committees for the dims and a return to normal voting rules where something more than a simple majority is needed for senate bill legislative approval.

Of course, he will insist on these changes after January of next year, until then he will continue his tyranical suspension of the voting rules.
