We absolutely have to make them kneel to our demands. How are we going to do that, once they're safely ensconced in office?
This 'holding their feet to the fire', is a load of crap. Show me where that's ever been done, except with real tar, feathers, and pitch forks.

I am for tar and pitchforks. I am for gumming up their works. I am for making them pay.

2006 attempted immigration reform. You asked for one example and there it is. Bush and Congress wanted it, the grass roots lit up the phones and emails and they thought better of it. Holding their feet to the fire is not just crap.
