RUSH: Mitt Romney: If the Republicans win the Senate, we'll get amnesty, and he is happy about it. If Republicans win the Senate, we're gonna get amnesty! (clapping) He's clapping his hands. You want to hear it? Grab audio sound bite 15. Sunday morning, Fox News Sunday. Chris Wallace said, "The Senate, on a bipartisan basis, passed comprehensive immigration reform. House Republicans blocked it. So what?"
ROMNEY: You're gonna see a provision, first of all, to secure the border; second of all, to deal with those who've come here illegally; and third, to make sure that our immigration policies are more open and transparent to the many people who do want to come here legally. That's gonna happen. You're gonna see a bill actually reach the desk of the president if we finally have someone besides Harry Reid sitting in the Senate.
RUSH: He said it; you heard it. The establishment Republicans must actually believe that we're all chomping at the bit for the president finally to get a comprehensive immigration bill he could sign. They must think we really, really want this. They must think we're really frustrated out here. They must think that we want to win the Senate so that we can get an immigration bill -- which, of course, secures the border first.
Right, right, right, right, right.
There's other news about all of that and that kind of thing. I've got a whole Stack. Polling data... I don't want to tease it. I'll just get to it. But you'll... (interruption) After all that good news, I had to do it, because that sets up what's coming next. Heads up. The Republicans are running around... This is in Politico. But the Republicans are the source.
The Republicans are running around saying (summarized), "If we win, if Mitch McConnell wins and if all these establishment Republicans win, that means Republican Party is casting aside the Tea Party. That means mainline, Republican establishment, moderate policies are what Republican voters want." That's what they're setting up to say.

Not to worry; for a response is probably being crafted this very moment, blaming YOU and your ilk for giving us OBAMA by NOT voting for Romney!
From which side of his mouth did he make those comments?
“Ah, the Grammar Queen appreciates your post. Now if we could just stop people from saying, I could care less.
“Irregardless” (grin)
From which side of his mouth did he make those comments?
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
The disheartening thing here is that he made the comments in the same interview Rush ‘selectively’ chose the comments he quoted (and then you passed on without checking the entire interview).
This was not an honorable thing for anyone to do. It’s effectively lying and that should bother anyone who realizes that without integrity any political movement is worth nothing.
I agree. Romney is not an honorable man.
Sarcasm. The defense of the weak.
Everything bad will be in it.
I’ll listen out and see what he does!
Oh?
One needs only to find the, uh, 'thing' floating in the punchbowl to dampen one's appetite for anything else on the table.
My message to Republicans:
“Just because you won doesn’t mean we trust you, idiots. The reason why you lost is because liberals couldn’t tell the difference between the fake liberals and the real liberals. Grow a spine this time and by actual conservatives. It worked for Reagan, and more importantly it worked for W when he had the courage to do it.”
Here’s the part left out that, at least to me, clearly states that Romney believes that party is against amnesty:
In an interview on Fox News Sunday, the former Massachusetts governor said that This is really the last chance for America to pass judgment on the Obama administration and on its policies. And the president himself said hes not on the ballot, but his policies are.
Its a policy also of basic amnesty for those people who come to the country illegally. I think thats what we know where the president is going to head as soon as the election is over, Romney said.
The Republican Party is saying, look, were going to take a different direction, Romney continued, saying that a Republican-controlled Senate would secure the border and jump-start the economy.
Can you now give me the ‘turd in punchbowl’ line that I seem to have missed where he says something that is pro-amnesty?
Merely commenting on the ‘selectivity’ that Rush used.
We ALL are ‘selective’ about something; not necessarily about pro-amnesty.
*groan*
When people say “I could care less.”, what they mean to say is that they don’t care at all, so the proper expression is “I couldn’t care less.” Saying “I could care less.” means that one does actually care to a certain extent.
Did that answer your question, or did I muddle things more?
True; this IS how it is mangled MOST of the time; but a person CAN say...
I could care less.
and actually MEAN it!
Other than this; you did a fine job explaining the problem: no muddle found in your response at all.
(Watch out; or I'll get that Carry On meme generator thingy going...)
