Canada Ping!
Last time I was on the House floor, the bullet holes were still there from the Puerto Rican Nationals that attacked the US Capitol
Leave them It’s history.
“....the gunfight that killed Michael Zehaf-Bibeau....”
.
Wasn’t he a muzzie, or is that fact overlooked?
That name doesn’t sound much muzzie.
I’m afraid if they don’t fix the bullet holes, everybody looking for a lasting memorial to themselves will decide to put in a few new holes of their own. I don’t want the perpetrator to feel at all special— that he made history.
When I was a child on a field trip to Louisiana’s state capital, I remember sticking my finger in the bullet holes in the marble wall from when Huey Long was assassinated
You can take the tour of the Louisiana state capital and they will point out bullet holes from the Huey Long shooting. (They won’t tell you that he was actually shot by the state troopers who sprayed with their Thompsons).
Fix all but one and kick Muzzie butt.
This story reminded me of a story from Canada, where Vancouver City Hall had its historic door knobs removed, for accessibility.

Many buildings in France still have signs from WWII.
You are correct.
Here's the difference:
The event is a crime, it's a personal war against society. It's graffiti with violence. As soon as it is over, remove the evidence, else it becomes encouragement.
However if the evidence is an act of violence by a large group such as another country, then it is history for all and should be preserved.
9/11/2001 a case in point. Violence by a small group got lucky. Erase the damage.
Use red patches. And follow that by changing Canada’s arcane gun control laws so that Canadian Citizens can arm themselves.
