You can forget about Mitch McConnell. Ted Cruz has plans to take over if the Republicans win their Senate majority. After a spell of cooperating with his party during the campaign season, the Post reports, he will elbow his way into de facto leadership.
In an interview at the Hotel Captain Cook here between campaign stops for Sullivan, Cruz made it clear he would push hard for a Republican-led Senate to be as conservative and confrontational as the Republican-led House.
Piggybacking on what House leaders have done, Cruz said the first order of business should be a series of hearings on President Obama, looking at the abuse of power, the executive abuse, the regulatory abuse, the lawlessness that sadly has pervaded this administration.
Cruz also would like the Senate to be as aggressive in trying to repeal the Affordable Care Act as the House, which has voted more than 50 times to get rid of the law.
Republicans should pursue every means possible to repeal Obamacare, Cruz said, including forcing a vote through parliamentary procedures that would get around a possible filibuster by Democrats. If that leads to a veto by Obama, Cruz said, Republicans should then vote on provisions of the health law one at a time.
And when asked whether he would back Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky for Republican leader, Cruz would not pledge his support

Not sure why you’d ask me. Perhaps trying to carry on your antics from yesterday?
nature hates a vacuum
Coups in both the new Republican Senate and Republican House leaderships would be gigantic steps in restoring some faith to those institutions.
It almost happened in the House in January 2013, but Bachmann and a couple of others lost their spines and backed down. Boehner was so appreciative of her backing off that he took her chairmanship away from her.
Really? Where’ve you been?
Anyone but Cruz as our next president will lead to the destruction of what is left of America, imo.
I agree and want Cruz....I think you may have misread....I stated Palin is unelectable nationally
God I hope he moves right in, and takes over!
To be clear, you stated your opinion that she was unelectable nationally. Which is fine. But it isn’t a fact.
I thought you were making a joke, and a good one! Thanks for the snicker.
From your keyboard to God's monitor!
The last time I got this enthusiatic about a politician, the guy had the initials RWR.
Chicken sh## rhinos have done nothing but reach across the isle we need to hand them thier a##es on a plate for years to come
I typically try to (key word try) not to present things as statements of fact but I do have a strong opinion on this one. I liked Palin and still do but have come to believe she has oversold her hand and more about brand Palin. She is a fighter however when you place yourself out there to be just that and do so daily sometimes it can grow tiring. Then there’s the build up that she may run or may not run..etc etc...couple that with the media’s unrelenting attacks on her and not a soul defending her but herself the general public acquires a perception and that my friend is all it takes in politics...a perception
I appreciate the straight up response. I wish that all Palin debates here were that honest.
I do as well FRiend....I get blasted for my views and they mistake my honesty for a dislike for her. Just the opposite...she lit a fire across conservatives long missing from our movement. She helped get Cruz elected and we thank her for that. However I do think it is time for her to step aside and pass the torch. I think she has done that with Cruz but only time will tell.
If only Senator Cruz’s goals were achievable...but he won’t have the numbers. Still, I like that he’s so consistent and straighforward about his agenda. He’s not a bit afraid of the RNC or the power elites in the Senate (McConnell and McCain), and all that they will do to try to sink his 2016 battleship. Damn the torpedoes and keep it on Cruz control.
Hope he's aware that Gope will resort to any underhanded , dirty tricks it can, to "Palin-ize" him and take him down- This is not even including democrat nastiness and treachery.
It's on now.
He, and people he trusts, need to watch everything- -including seemingly small things- like lighting and make up exc.. expect trouble.
Also-Beware of Rinos!
Hey, Ted, take over the White House next!
Just be sure to have it fumigated first.
GO TED GO!
Isn’t leadership dependent on a vote rather than pure seniority? I sure would love to see Mitch slapped down, and Ted get the nod.
All right third party whackjobs!
1)Why would you have a problem with this?
-And-
2) What do you have against TEApublicans?
Now get out there and hold your nose!
