Mainstream GOP sees tipping point vs. insurgent candidates (Tea Party Are Losers)
Politico ^ | 11/3/14 | ALEXANDER BURNS

For the Republican Party’s leadership, taking control of the U.S. Senate might not even be the sweetest part of a victory in 2014. With growing confidence as Election Day approaches, Republican leaders are preparing to argue that broad GOP gains in the House and Senate would represent a top-to-bottom validation of their party’s mainline wing. Having taken a newly heavy-handed approach to the primary season this year, the top strategists of the Republican coalition say capturing the majority would set a powerful precedent for similar actions in the future — not just in Senate and congressional races, but in the presidential primary season as well.

National Republicans managed this year to snuff out every bomb-throwing insurgent who tried to wrest a Senate nod away from one of their favored candidates. They spent millions against baggage-laden activists such as Matt Bevin, the Louisville investor who mounted a ham-fisted challenge to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel, the conservative upstart who imperiled a safe seat by nearly ousting longtime Sen. Thad Cochran.

...If this fresh tack leads to victory, Republicans expect that aggressive posture (warring on Conservative Tea Party) will carry over into 2016.

You know the answer he and others like him will give you is YES. No mater what - vote for the person with an ‘R’ after their name, even if they are a brazen Conservative-hating Obama-agenda passing Ruling Class stooge.

Because for them this is just a game, principles and faith can go to hell because to them they have no value in the voting booth.

My gut tells me that this is just a Leftist puff piece trying to suppress voter turnout.

The GOP will go the way of the Whigs. It cannot survive without the conservatives and the libertarians.

But the conservatives and libertarians MUST vote for the Republican, no matter how repulsive he may be. Anything else is supporting the democrats; "Harry Reid thanks you for your support".

We hear this pathetic refrain every election year, urging us to vote for whatever scrofulous toad the Republican Party has anointed that particular year.

Yeah.. Im familiar him from other threads.

I just get a kick out of putting him on the spot to defend the indefensible. and or ignore the question... Either way its obvious to the MANY casual readers that he is WRONG or trying to hide the fact that he is WRONG.

What the He** are you talking about? I don’t listen to the alphabet stations - I was just making some observations from some of the candidates that have run as TEA party candidates. Since when have Rush and Mark become leftists media pundits? Sounds like you have your head screwed on backwards. Stop being so dam*ed stupid!

“If you are going to try and tell us that the GOP Ruling Class does not want to be “friends” with the MSM and ‘leak’ them info on their strategy and mindset against a common enemy - you will out yourself as a low information Republican voter. “

Let me give you a CLUE genius!

The Leftist in the Media LOVE and Worship this President Okay?

Have you not figured that out over the last few years??????????????????????

First, they are NOT YOUR FRIEND... Real friends do not give you bad advice.

The Leftist at Politico are very worried about the election being a complete rejection of the Obama Administration and policy. Who is on the opposite side of that political position.... It's the Tea Party Genius!

So in order to “slow it down” through “a wrench in it” the Big Government loving Leftist PRETEND this is an anti Tea Party vote.

ROTFLMAO!!!!

And like a Chump... you fall for this rubbish.

MMy gut tells me that this is just a Leftist puff piece trying to suppress voter turnout.

Why should you worry what 'puff piece' any MSM media runs to 'suppress voter turnout'????

This was supposed to be a 'blowout election ' for the GOP. Now there is worry that may not be the case.

If the GOP had run a solid campaign with a message that excited the Base instead of being hostile toward their base, you would have no worries, Conservatives would have crawled over broken glass to vote for the GOP.

The truth is, the GOP has given us no reason to vote for them outside of stating 'They are not Democrats" and/or "stop Harry Reid, vote for me" while telling us in advance they plan to surrender power to Reid should they win; ObamaCare is here to stay" and Amnesty is going to happen in some form.

If there is suppression of turnout for the GOP, the Ruling Class only has themselves to blame.

But we have already seen right here on FR - Conservatives will be blamed should tomorrow not turn out as expected.

I’m beginning to believe that the best thing that could happen tomorrow is for McConnell, Brown, Cornyn and Cochran to lose.

And like a Chump... you fall for this rubbish.

And like a blind idiot, you refuse to see fruits and facts of the abject hostility the GOP Establishment has for the Tea Party.

I'll chalk you up to a low information Republican because obviously the fact that the GOP plays footsie with the MSM in order to be "liked" by them does not even enter your consciousness.

McConnell and Rove and other operatives for the Establishment have let it be known in the last few months in direct and subtle ways that their "win" tomorrow would be a complete and utter repudiation of the Tea Party.

It is not lost on those of us with eyes open that the Ruling Class Establishment GOP hates Conservatives as much if not moreso than the Democrats do.

You are going around saying this election is an Anti Tea Party vote................., and not anti Obama and the Democrats.

Now why do you say this?

Answer: Because the Leftist at Politico told you so.

I'm ASTOUNDED that you have the AUDACITY to make such a DUMB@SS...., statement!

GOPe has tea party derangement syndrome. With the President’s approval rating in the toilet, the election shouldn’t even be close.

The GOPe candidates as well as the Democrats politicians all have low approval ratings. I read it as a pox on both of your political machines.

If the GOPe doesn’t start representing it’s base, they will not win the white house in 2016, and may even lose congress critters. GOPe is a bunch of arrogant better than thou elites. They treat conservatives kinda like the Dems treat the Blacks.

I don’t doubt for a second that the GOP has suppressed conservative turn out. They certainly suppressed my donations.

I still think this is a Leftist puff piece. I’d bet money that their sources don’t exist.

You are the dumb a**! I didn’t say this was an anti-TEA Party vote - I merely said that some of the TEA Party candidates weren’t vetted very well - and they weren’t. This has nothing to do with an anti-TEA Party vote. Good Lord - you are so screwed up in your cognitive thinking skills.

It's doing fine so far because the conservatives and the libertarians will vote for the GOPe candidate regardless.

” the fact that the GOP plays footsie with the MSM in order to be “liked”

Like a Chump! And THAT is the issue!

Instead of sticking to conservative ideas, they back stab their support, implode like a cheap suit in order to “liked” by Leftist in the media that worship Obama.

It's why our country has been heading in the wrong direction.

I can't believe you

Yeah then Rush went into t-rex moment saying we conservative should vote tomorrow to repudiate all things Obama.

Idiot.

Honestly, Rush has search high and low for a plausible reason for us to vote and he thinks he owns it now. He is wrong.
Rush needs to give up the ghost...we are on to it all and if he does not want to offend the remaining blue beards that still talk to him that's his problem not mine.

Screw the GOP for electing them in the past gave us Obama...

Two issues that are swaying the public away from the socialist regime are health care and too much IRS control. These two items need to be addressed immediately after the elections ( if the GOP takes the house).

There is a big Anti Obama, Anti Democrat, Anti Big Government wave coming.

The media is finally caving, after they told us for years everyone loves the Dear Leader, in order to maintain what little credibility they have left.

And your bitching, like a Chump, about the Tea Party Candidates..........

I cannot understand why you are so gullible....., and do not see this as a desperate hail mary move by a Leftist to maintain the current political status quo.

WTF is wrong with you???
