In an incident mirroring a recent California case, a Marine in Maryland who served overseas and fought against Islamic extremists was barred from school premises when he protested his daughter learning about what he called “the benefits of Islam” at her Maryland high school.
Kevin Wood asked that she be excused from class while that subject was discussed, but La Plata High School refused, prompting Wood to argue with the school. That triggered the school to issue a no-trespassing order, reported Pennlive.
Station USA9 reported that Wood, presently a firefighter, said he had not made any threats. Wood and his wife said that if Islam was going to be taught, current events should be part of the lesson. Melissa Wood said, “That's I guess our biggest concern right now is how they're teaching it and what is really going on right now in this world." Kevin Wood added,"[Schools] are not teaching about radical Islam right now - going around beheading people in America and Australia and they're not teaching that. They're just teaching, 'Oh, it's peaceful.' And it's not peaceful."
Zainab Chaudry, Maryland Outreach Manager for CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said she was "saddened but not surprised," continuing, "Unfortunately there is a growing anti-Muslim sentiment in the United States. It's important that if these [extremist] groups are mentioned [in schools] and that students are taught about that, that a distinction is made so students understand that these groups are not following the teachings of true Islam."

The best way to control these child abusers is to throw them out of their union protected job. How?
Answer:
Government schools need two things to remain open: Kids and money.
Work to starve them of both.
Not everybody can afford to send their kids to private schools and foot the bill for tuition twice. Nor cn most people afford to homeschool or have the ability to do it properly. I am in favor of public education just not in its current form. I want the money to follow the kid so in cses like this the Marine can tell the pompous ass educators to GFY and move him and his kid on to the next school.
What should should I say? “Gee, parent, you are such a good and caring parent for abusing your child”. I don't think so.
And...If calling child abuse is an iitty bitty club, then count me as a **proud** member!
So? Abusing a child by sending them into an abusive single-payer and socialist-entitment school is “doing it properly”??????
I don’t think so, ...but...it is proper child abuse!

Still, I wouldn’t send my kids there for anything.
A true answer is going to have to be holistic, in the vein of the biblical “turn the hearts of the sons to the fathers and of the fathers to the sons.”
And yes you can count mothers and daughters here. The gender isn’t the most important thing here.
Get parents to care about quality (and yes, it’s for the chillun — their own chillun), and almost anything will walk away with the prize in comparison to the modern common public school. And the politics will follow. Honey will have succeeded where vinegar kept failing. After all, wintertime, we usually grow more food in summertime!
