Ed Gillespie continues to close the gap on Mark Warner in the Virginia Senate race, causing Real Clear Politics to move the race from Likely Dem to Leans Dem. Virginia is currently the only Senate race in that category, which suggests its the GOPs best chance to stage a substantial upset on election night.

I lived in Falls Church when I was a little girl. Come on, you Virginians! Vote to save our country, at least for a little while longer!

On a very windy day here in Connecticut, I took my dog out for a walk in the woods and upon our return to the car, the dog was covered in ticks. As I picked the ticks off one by one, I was reminded of how the Democrats must be feeling today.
Like the ticks, the Democrats are desperately seeking a host to attach themselves to before the cold, dark winter sets in. Beware of them as you venture outside today in the harsh sunshine of a late autumn day. Be sure you pick them off of you before you come back indoors.

You BET we’ll vote! Would have regardless. Never trusted the early polls anyway. What was it earlier? -16 or something?
Could be a real shocker IF we win here.

Here is where the wasted vote would be a tragedy. Writing in someone who has no chance is throwing away your vote. Supporting the ugly republicans will at least give us a chance.
I will vote for Ed and against Warner, Reid, and Obamacare.

Warner was a pretty popular ‘non-partizan’ governor supposedly. Not that being governor means much in this state. And [r] senator Warner is really chummy with the dem-warner too.
It would be sweet to beat him!

Unfortunately there’s also a Libertarian on the ballot, like when McAuliffe won by a plurality.

At this late stage, all ticket-splitting third-men out ought to have already endorsed opponents to the D.isease Party.
Good grief.

Virginia conservatives have owed John Warner a bloody nose for a long, long time.

I doubt it would happen, but one never knows. That would be the greatest “get” on Tuesday night. The wild card would be the increasingly conservative southern and western reaches of the state.

I have no problem with third parties, IF the rule is that 50% of the votes are required to win the general election. Then the third party is not a spoiler.
But in states like Virginia, where it only takes a plurality to win the general election, third parties really do frustrate the overall will of the voters.

What a unique analogy!
But there is truth to it. Tick=Parasite=Democrat
While there is much to be hopeful for, one "tick" that appears poised to make it safely indoors for the winter is Al Franken in MN. This utterly disgraceful individual deserves to be tossed out of office more than any other tick, errrr... Democrat running in 2014.

Unfortunately theres also a Libertarian on the ballot, like when McAuliffe won by a plurality. It's the same guy too. The Dems like keeping him around.

Is that ever the truth! The backstabbing he gave to Ollie North in 1994 is inexcusable.

Mr. Elizabeth Taylor was less useful to conservatives than Michael Jackson’s pet monkey would have been as a Senator.
At least the monkey would have been a conservative vote on legislation about half the time.
