Apple CEO Tim Cook came out Thursday, announcing that he is gay in a column in Bloomberg Businessweek.
"Let me be clear: I'm proud to be gay, and I consider being gay among the greatest gifts God has given me," he wrote.
Cook has not publicly discussed his sexual preferences before now, despite some rumors and speculation that he is gay.
A year ago he announced support for a federal law which would have protected workers from facing discrimination based on their sexual orientation.
"For too long, too many people have had to hide that part of their identity in the workplace," he wrote at the time.

I guess you’ll be seeing a AIDS symbol on the start up screen soon.
OK, I think I get a Note 4, I am done with Apple’s bee ess
Quelle surprise!
Interesting how these activists don’t mention the part about how they have their “brains” up someone else’s butt.
I noticed the comments on the BusinessWeek article are closed. I guess some people don’t want to hear that the announcement is not earth-shaking, meaningful, or even worthy of print.
Congratulations, Tim. You like penis. Am I supposed to be impressed?
Yippee.
Drudge calling it “iGay” rotflmao
As a former super, I couldn’t give hoot about what you do in bed as long as you kept your bedroom at home. When your on the job, don’t matter if your a straight or whatever....just do your job and leave everyone out of your sexual life for 8 hours.
No, you didn’t fix it. You just provided an example of why their activism has become as successful as it has. With extremely rare exceptions, people don’t consciously choose to be gay. The opposite extreme, that they are born that way, is also false. It’s a dysfunctional compulsion brought on by emotional damage too early in life to be thinking about sexual attraction. The choice comes when a person recognizes the compulsion in themselves and makes a choice whether to combat it or embrace and nurture it.
By viewing it simplisticly and dismissing the compulsion itself as a choice, we have missed the opportunity for rational public debate on the subject and motivated homosexuals to entrench themselves and fight that much harder.
How can you be proud to be something you claim is genetic?
Answering a question which had gone unasked? Focus on Apple’s products and keep your personal business out of it. Nobody cares.
Would that lead to a “Go Fund Me” link? LOL
He thinks God has “gifted” him with being gay, yet that same God considers homosexuality a sin? This makes no sense. For a smart guy, he’s not too bright.
Typical narcissistic faggie, it’s all “ME! ME! ME!!!” and “Let your p***s be your guide!!”
He’ll be picketing Chick Fil-A soon. Really sick of these people.
That is a superb and thoughtful post.
I couldn’t agree more.
I hope it doesn’t start a trend amongst CEO’s. I don’t want to know about their sexual life...All I want to know is how are they going to make me money with their product. Again...penises have nothing to with the vast majority of consumer products.
Hmm, it’s probably not going to matter to the rats, seeing as he’s a CEO.
Ha!!!
So heteros are now free to announce how proud they of their sexual orientation and pen op eds announcing their sexual habits? I didn’t care until now, but will avoid giving any money to another advocate for a life style that had nothing to do with his products.
Is he coming out too?
