Nurse Kaci Hickox who remains symptom-free after spending three days in a New Jersey isolation tent after flying home from Ebola-stricken West Africa remains under quarantine at home in Maine, but for only another day, she tells TODAY's Matt Lauer.
I dont plan on sticking to the guidelines. I remain appalled by these home quarantine policies that have been forced upon me, even though I am in perfectly good health and feeling strong and have been this entire time completely symptom free, said Hickox, who wouldnt emerge from Maines 21-day voluntary quarantine until Nov. 10.
I truly believe this policy is not scientifically nor constitutionally just, and so Im not going to sit around and be bullied around by politicians and be forced to stay in my home when I am not a risk to the American public.
Hickox, who pointed out that top health officials believe a quarantine is unnecessary unless someone develops symptoms, also said:
She will pursue legal action if Maine forces her into continued isolation: If the restrictions placed on me by the state of Maine are not lifted by Thursday morning, I will go to court to fight for my freedom.(continued)

That’s not Bozo the Clown in drag?
If only that would happen.....
If she gave it to someone in my family, I’d sue her.
Didn’t they use to burn witches at the stake in Maine?
Not only would it solve this problem, it would cremate her remains...
Oh no, you have it wrong.
Americans who don’t agree with him aren’t racists; they are selfish scaredy cats who “ would avoid leadership and have us running in the opposite direction and hiding under the covers.”
Obama says Americans are “at our best when we are standing up and taking responsibility, even when it requires us making sacrifices especially when it requires us making sacrifices.”
Perhaps Obama should elaborate on exactly what sacrifices he expects of us.
Exactly. Since when does being angry produce a 101-degree temperature? Even hot flashes (for example) might raise someone's temperature to only 99 degrees, or maybe 100 degrees.
But... 101? That's a full-fledged fever.
Remember Nurse Vinson reported herself when she had a 99.5 degree temp. She was heavily criticized for traveling, even though the CDC told her to go ahead. (It's not considered a fever until 100.4.)
But, THIS nurse had a fever higher than 100.4. Yet she didn't think she should've been quarantined at all. What a piece of work.
She is not actually claiming that her temperature was raised because she was angry. Her claim is that her face was flushed because she was angry, and that her face being flushed resulted in an inaccurate reading on the forehead scan thermometer. Her temperature was taken orally shortly thereafter, and was normal.
Part of her original story was how she had been caring for a poor girl who was in siezures due to the fever of ebola and how she was the only person caring for her and she died from the disease. This was the beginning of all part of her emotional stress of returning stateside then being put in isolation against her will.
If I was the governor of Maine I would have her house surrounded by armed reservists just returned from the $hit with orders for them to shoot her if she tryed to leave the proeerty.
The problem seems to be Doctors Without Borders.
First, a Doctors Without Borders doctor flew into NYC and went all over town while Ebola-positive.
Now this Doctors Without Borders nurse is suing because a 101-degree fever got her quarantined.
And now Doctors Without Borders has taken a position in favor of this nurse.
What particular law applies here? I'm sure there are quarantine laws that apply to those who actually have certain diseases, but in this case they're quarantining based on the possibility that someone might be carrying one, and I'm not too sure any such law exists, else they wouldn't have let her have her way, and they wouldn't be scrambling about trying to find some legal means of keeping her isolated.
Wherever she goes people should point at her and yell leper, unclean! Well if she does ignore the quarantine they should, and I bet she would be happy to stay inside after a bit of it.

‘rats just love big, controlling government - until it can’t be turned to their own purposes and starts getting their way.....
A quarantine is not only for those who are infected, but can be used to see if a potentially infected person shows symptoms while in quarantine.
I wonder how many friends dropped by for her Welcome Home party?
Thank you for the info.
But, it’s possible that even an oral reading might’ve recorded a fever at one moment and then no fever the next. I know because it happened to me once when my temp was taken twice by a nurse at a doctor’s office.
Americans shouldn’t have to take the chance that a forehead scan showing a full-fledged fever might’ve been wrong. We should err on the side of caution.
Is it? In the hospitals they cannot hold you against your will. It is the reason one can sign out Against Medical Advice.
Have they made a law to quarantine her? If so, jail her.
