Nurse Kaci Hickox who remains symptom-free after spending three days in a New Jersey isolation tent after flying home from Ebola-stricken West Africa remains under quarantine at home in Maine, but for only another day, she tells TODAY's Matt Lauer.
I dont plan on sticking to the guidelines. I remain appalled by these home quarantine policies that have been forced upon me, even though I am in perfectly good health and feeling strong and have been this entire time completely symptom free, said Hickox, who wouldnt emerge from Maines 21-day voluntary quarantine until Nov. 10.
I truly believe this policy is not scientifically nor constitutionally just, and so Im not going to sit around and be bullied around by politicians and be forced to stay in my home when I am not a risk to the American public.
Hickox, who pointed out that top health officials believe a quarantine is unnecessary unless someone develops symptoms, also said:
She will pursue legal action if Maine forces her into continued isolation: If the restrictions placed on me by the state of Maine are not lifted by Thursday morning, I will go to court to fight for my freedom.(continued)

A lawless one,has to be a deomcrat
Jail her.
That’s how you deal with folks who wont follow public health rules
Freegards

It isn’t politics, Buttercup, it is the law.
That’s the way things work in this strange world ... a person stands up for individual liberties, against overbearing government intrusions and gets labeled a Democrat. I’ll retire to Bedlam.
She’s quite the mouthpiece. I heard her today. How dare anyone tell HER what she has to do! Typical superior liberal.
Neither will she be bullied by common sense nor Medical “Science” nor Medical Arts.
Arrogant AND stupid - what a girl!
Actually, I “remain appalled” at our tax rate, but I still have to pay it. Stupid woman.
Unholy B!+@#.
A quarantine for a disease that kills 2/3rds of it’s victims is an “over bearing government intrusion” now? Seriously? You can take this individualistic, rugged Marlboro Man $#*+ only so far, FRiend.
Though not specifically in the Constitution, Public Health seems to be a legitimate function of a gov’t of the people, especially the local ones.
Sorry...even though she's in the health care industry, it's not her call to make. Indeed, if she's seen on the streets before Nov 10, it should be open season on her.
Send her back to Africa, and then pull her passport.
It is not overbearing.
Any able bodied person fit and adaptable enough to go to Africa, a foreign country, I’ll add, to treat, voluntarily, people with a deadly, mysterious, contagious, horrifying disease, is able bodied and adaptable enough to withstand three weeks of isolation.
If she’s contracted the disease, she’ll soon find out that there are degrees of isolation.
She will be infamous.
And if she spreads it, she’ll be infamous for a long time.
but this is no big government protest.
So do you think trying to protect against outbreak of disease is an unwarranted intrusion on liberty by government? Its not like she was singled out for no reason. Please explain in more detail what you mean.
I will, at the business end of my rifle is she gets into my county. This chick isn't a "nurse", she is a political activist and now my sworn enemy. Her actions can potentially impact my liberties, she and I officially have problems with one and other.
Have they added to the list of symptoms:
Strong desire to travel, esp., on public transportation.?
The incubation period is around 21 days. Dr. Spencer did not show symptoms until 9 days after exposure. (10/12 exposure, 10/21 symptoms). Hickox has been in the U.S. 5 days. Did she have any exposure in the 4-12 days prior to her arrival here?
Even individual liberties have limits. They are set by things called laws. But you knew that.
Its hard to believe that someone with such a piss poor attitude is a dedicated medical professional.
