GOP's John Cornyn Eyes Immigration Reform 'After We Get Majority'
Newsmax ^ | 10/28/14 | Jennifer G. Hickey

During a debate with Democratic challenger David Alameel, Texas Sen. John Cornyn said it is time to reach a "consensus" on immigration reform by "finding parts that we agree on," including providing children of illegal immigrants access to education.

"I believe education is the way out," the Republican said.

He added that the children of parents "who did not comply with our immigration laws are guilty of nothing," and "it makes no sense to condemn them to a minimum-wage job for the rest of their lives when they could produce so much more, when they could be so much more. They would benefit, their families would benefit, and our nation would benefit."

The debate, hosted by KUVN and Univision 23, was little more than a formality as the latest CBS News/YouGov poll finds Cornyn with a 57 percent to 35 percent lead over Alameel.

The debate marked the latest in a series of comments and remarks that indicate Cornyn's positions on some aspects of immigration reform are softening.

"We have a broken immigration system and I am one who would like to fix it.

That’s a perfect analogy.

Unfortunately, liberals took teaching logic out of our schools decades ago. The sheeple can’t think for themselves.

It would be nice if people would stand up to this insanity. But I have a hard time believing that cowards that can’t even expend the effort to vote against the people causing this will resist in any way.

As long as ‘conservatives’ get their liberal republicans, read conservative websites on their new Apple computers, their big screen on and a new F350 is in the garage, they will keep sending the cable bill in to fund libs and voting for them ‘no matter what’.

“Isaiah 3:1-4 says that such leaders would be taken from us due to unfaithfulness.”

And I know it’s all in His time.

But it’s hard to watch this country disintegrate.

Well quit doing that, quit making lists and pinging us to threads that we aren’t even on to continue whatever grudges that you evidently carry from thread to thread, we don’t, we don’t have any idea what goes on your head, or what was said on some long forgotten thread, or why it is supposed to mean that you create ping lists for other threads.

Oh, so you're saying that those threads have nothing to do with this? — that nobody from either of them would be interested in this?
I also find it interesting how you jump instantly to assuming that I'm carrying grudges.
And how you jump instantly to such an adversarial and argumentative position.

I wrote in Stockman (God knows where my vote will wind up) and hope a lot of other TEA did just to get Cornyn down to around 52% against his opponent. I know the GOPe doesn’t ‘get’ messages you send them, but I want Cornyn to have 5% of the power that Cruz does in the upcoming new Senate.

So why should I vote for the traitor RINOs? They are no better than the dems.

Yes, that's exactly my point.

Yes, that too. The Chamber of Fascism is indeed one of the major strings-holder in running the GOP Establishment.

“Moreover, how much is the “they will overwhelm us” point? 20%? (That’s 1 in 5.) 25%? (That’s 1 in 4.) “

In the border states, the ratio is well beyond that. And spreading to a neighborhood near you!

We are relocating to a rural location that is over 90% white. I don’t expect it to stay that way but at least it will seem like we are in the US for most of the rest of my lifetime. The problem is, you have to get away from cities and areas with a growing economy to avoid the invasion. I’m more than willing to do it and to live a simpler life (ie., with less money), but many can’t.

Yet we are continually told to “quit being a purist and get on the band wagon to defeat Reid!”

No thanks.

The fact that Cornball is second in line in the Republican “leadership” ranks is very telling to what the Republican Party is.

“I have been afraid of this. The Republicans win and go the WRONG direction.”

Their statements have confirmed that their priority is to institute amnest, pass a fully funded government continuing resolution and to kill the talk of repealing Obamacare. Their goal is to crush the tea party fringe of THEIR party.

Yes, the GOP is killing themselves.

“This has been obvious since before Romney — and the shenanigans in the primaries and at the RNC proved it beyond doubt in my mind.”

Don’t forget - Bush and his RINO Senate pushed for amnesty. The only thing that stopped it was a conservative base in the House. And heroes like Tancredo and Hunter were vilified by Bush and Rove.

I didn’t vote for Cornpone, either. He’s doing his expected lurch to the left, that he always does after campaign season.

I have faxed him (via NumbersUSA) and called his district offices (since you cannot get through at his DC office) to excoriate him on this (expected) cr@pola, FWIW.

I have no idea what you are rambling about or why you are creating these ping lists.

If there is some old thread that you wanted to post on in response to a post of mine, then go back to that thread and do it.

I truly have no idea what you are rambling about or what arguments and old threads you are raging about, quit making lists and creating some permanent ongoing dialogue in your head, if you have something to say to an old post of mine, then go back to that thread and make it.

>> Of course they are going to push amnesty for illegal Mexicans.
>> The GOP wants Conservatives replaced with a new constituency loyal to government.
>
> It runs a lot deeper than that. The Chamber of Commerce wants an endless supply of cheap labor, and they have spent tens of millions making sure Tea Party candidates lost this year.

You are exactly right, the brochure puts it into starkly explicit terms — enough that my brother said Good job! I've been trying to be less cynical, and you just destroyed all my efforts!

I don't believe that even after all the disaster of the Obola administration, Republicans would be in the running if if it wasn't clear that they are no longer conservative. The electorate which elected Obola twice didn't just turn conservative. They recognise, even if only instinctively, that the GOP is no longer conservative at all. That makes it easier to vote for them as a protest vote against the poor economy. They haven't eschewed all the hand-outs and pandering, they just want to throw a scare into the rats for not pandering and handing-out enough.

I have no idea what you are rambling about

Because you refuse to communicate.

or why you are creating these ping lists.

Again, not ping lists, just a script to scrape people participating in a particular thread.

If there is some old thread that you wanted to post on in response to a post of mine, then go back to that thread and do it.

Again, you're refusing to listen — I pinged those threads because this is germane to those discussions.
In this particular instance those threads were essentially vote GOP, the other guy's worse and this thread is proof that the GOP is just as bad.

Can't you see how it's germane?

I truly have no idea what you are rambling about or what arguments and old threads you are raging about,

Who's rambling?

quit making lists and creating some permanent ongoing dialogue in your head,

They're not in my head, they're in the threads mentioned.

if you have something to say to an old post of mine, then go back to that thread and make it.

It it was explicitly about your post that's what I'd do.
