A 24-year-old aspiring actress has been filmed being catcalled 108 times as she strolled around New York City - even though she was wearing a plain T-shirt, jeans and sneakers. Shoshana Roberts, a graduate of Kutztown University in Pennsylvania, was captured on a hidden camera by her friend, Rob Bliss, as she walked through the city's streets. Over a ten-hour period, she was pelted with dozens of unsolicited comments, including: 'What's up beautiful?', 'Hey baby', 'Smile' and 'Have a nice evening darling'. She was even followed by some men for several minutes, with one repeatedly asking her: 'You don't wanna talk? Because I'm ugly?' Others winked at her, whistled and made inappropriate noises.

It’s ALWAYS the low life, loitering scum like that who have the unwarranted temerity to think they can hassle women they don’t even know. They’re the dregs who are drags on society who have nothing better to do. Sickening.
Once in a while my son and I make a point to engage every person we pass in the grocery store with a ‘hello, how are you today’. I’d put it a 6 out of 10 who reply positively. The other 40% ignore it and don’t reply.
In NYC, she’d be considered an “8”. Here in Texas, she probably rates a “5”.

Ten hour period, Dozens of comments. Ok lets say three dozen. That is about 3 and a third comment per hour.
In my heyday, I could elicit 10 comments a minute, MINIMUM!

Yup, men have no idea what it would be like and imagine the unwanted attention would always be a fun thing.
The trouble is that the vast majority of the admirers are unkempt, loathsome, seedy-looking rascals.
She might want to play the video back when she’s late 50’s or early 60’s to remind herself of a time when guys noticed her.
Cat calls seem to be something guys do. Smiling back at somebody doesn’t cost a thing and maybe brighten their day. OTOH, when my friends and I were younger, we used to check out the butts of guys walking in front of us and make comments. She needs to lighten up a whole lot.
To each their own, but I'm with you on this one. Maybe she would have been happier if Ellen or Rosie were propositioning her.

I remember back about 10 or 15 years ago that some law was being proposed at the federal level in Italy to make it a crime to cat call. The legislation was proposed by some FemiNazi. When word of this proposal got out the Italian women rose up and demanded that it be nixed and it was thus.
Why?
It’s a tradition there for Italian men to cat call women and the Italian women love it.
She sure isn’t attractive.
I am 60 and they still do it clearly demonstrating it’s an automatic, visceral action. They’re nothing but crumb bums.
A long time ago I was part of a military convoy on a California freeway when this Toyota Tacoma came alongside of me. The female in the passenger seat lifted up her t-shirt and then cupped her fully exposed breasts and proceeded to jiggle them up and down. Fortunately, I was able maintain control of my tractor trailer. Made my morning!
