A 24-year-old aspiring actress has been filmed being catcalled 108 times as she strolled around New York City - even though she was wearing a plain T-shirt, jeans and sneakers. Shoshana Roberts, a graduate of Kutztown University in Pennsylvania, was captured on a hidden camera by her friend, Rob Bliss, as she walked through the city's streets. Over a ten-hour period, she was pelted with dozens of unsolicited comments, including: 'What's up beautiful?', 'Hey baby', 'Smile' and 'Have a nice evening darling'. She was even followed by some men for several minutes, with one repeatedly asking her: 'You don't wanna talk? Because I'm ugly?' Others winked at her, whistled and made inappropriate noises.

Probably. Those guys must have attractive-woman discernment disabilit disorder. She doesn’t look so hot annyway.
I read a similar article of a woman doing this in another city a few months ago. So, what she did is not something new.
Being followed by a group is Step 1 to real trouble, I'd say. But I would agree that a wink or "Hello, beautiful" is pretty tame if that's all that was done.
Street Harassment?
How many more must suffer?
What’s Up, Smile, etc., are hardly sexual harassment.
And I’m female. This is not offensive.
Some catcalls are offensive (Sit on My Face and etc.) I don’t defend that stuff at all.
I can only wonder how this cow reacts to a man opening a door for her!
I think you are right....what she went through was NOTHING...sheesh....
“Over a ten-hour period, she was pelted with dozens of unsolicited comments, including: ‘What’s up beautiful?’, ‘Hey baby’, ‘Smile’ and ‘Have a nice evening darling’.”
Oh, the HORROR.
gmta! (See post 10).
Give her a few years and take that same walk and she will wistfully remember when she could turn heads
She's been at that age since she was 11.
Hate crimes no doubt
There was a similar situation when Connie Chung did the national news. A young female complained and they showed her video. She confronted the people who ‘looked at her butt’. Oh, the horror!
Personally, I think that except for the obvious harassment by a few, this young woman should feel complimented, not offended.
Many moons ago, many, my wife was walking down a street in Houston pushing a stroller with our 6 month old baby in it and carrying our 2 year old in her arms. Guys honked and whistled. She wasn’t offended. Given the circumstances, she just thought the guys who did it were crazy.
And this is surprising in our hyper-sexualized society? If she is so averse to comments about her body, why is she becoming an actress? 95% of actresses will doff their top or do a nude scene if the price is right, or if they think it will advance their careers.
her facebook photos are a giveaway.
she wants exposure in “the media”
he got catcalls...and her wish for same
