Former U. of Arizona prof: We must destroy modern civilization to save Earth from global warming
LifeSiteNews ^ | 10/28/14 | Kirsten Andersen

A former professor at the University of Arizona is so convinced that global warming is ruining Earth that he’s proposing a desperate plan to save the world: Destroy human civilization as we know it.

Guy McPherson, who left academia in 2009 for “ethical reasons,” says humanity will be extinct by 2030 no matter what we do, so for the sake of the other species on Earth, we must “terminate industrial civilization” and abandon the modern technology that gives us electricity, worldwide mobility, clean drinking water, and medical care; to say nothing of the creature comforts of modern life.

“I think there’s ample chance we can save the living planet, but not our species. … Some people think that this whole thing is about us,” McPherson told the Paul Henry Show in New Zealand last week, during a tour to promote his new book Extinction Dialogues: How To Live With Death In Mind. “We just showed up… I don’t think this is about us, I think it’s about the living planet,” McPherson said.

Although McPherson makes a significant portion of his living peddling climate hysteria online, high-speed internet connections, computers and iPhones are not part of his view of the future.  Instead, he argues, we must look to “indigenous” people with their mud and straw huts and hunter-gatherer lifestyles as an example of how to live out our final days on Earth.  Indeed, McPherson himself claims to live in “a straw house in the middle of the woods surrounded by animals” and says that nothing short of the total collapse of human civilization will slow the imminent destruction of our world.

“I work toward collapse,” McPherson says in an essay on his website. “Largely unafflicted by the arrogance of humanism, I work on behalf of non-human species. Industrial civilization is destroying every aspect of the living planet, and I know virtually nobody who wants to stop the runaway train. Yes, collapse will kill us. But our deaths are guaranteed regardless, unless I missed a memo.”

If McPherson’s perspective seems lacking in optimism, you’re not wrong.  He and his followers in the “near-term extinction” (NTE) movement derisively refer to hope as “hopium,” and accuse mainstream environmental scientists whose studies point to anything other than imminent apocalypse as “deniers.”  Some observers in the scientific community have referred to the NTE as a “death cult,” a criticism so common that McPherson has pinned a disclaimer at the top of his website saying that while he does not advocate for or against suicide, he urges those who contemplate it to “re-consider.”

It’s tempting to dismiss McPherson as a crank, but much of the rhetoric coming out of President Obama’s administration in recent days has echoed the professor’s paranoia regarding climate change.

At a recent UN summit on the climate, Obama described climate change as the most imminent threat facing the world today – more dangerous than terrorism, instability, inequality, and deadly diseases like Ebola and Enterovirus D-68.

Quoting Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Obama said that he believes "there is such a thing as being too late" – and insisted the world must "move toward a global compact to confront a changing climate while we still can.”

And at a State Department reception to celebrate the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Adha, Secretary of State John Kerry said that climate change, not Muslim extremism, was at least partially to blame for the deadly actions of terrorist groups like ISIS, ISIL, Daesh, and Boko Haram.

“The extremism that we see, the radical exploitation of religion which is translated into violence, has no basis in any of the real religions,” Kerry told a group of Muslim leaders. “There’s nothing Islamic about what ISIL/Daesh stands for, or is doing to people.”

Kerry said that the real reasons behind Islamic terrorism are economic, driven by weather conditions he attributes to global warming.

“[C]limate change … is profoundly having an impact in various parts of the world, where droughts are occurring not at a 100-year level but at a 500-year level in places that they haven’t occurred, floods of massive proportions, diminishment of water for crops and agriculture at a time where we need to be talking about sustainable food,” Kerry said.  “And in many places we see the desert increasingly creeping into East Africa. We’re seeing herders and farmers pushed into deadly conflict as a result.”

Despite the Obama administration’s feverish devotion to the global warming narrative, the scientific data backing it up is less than compelling.  In fact, scientists are currently scrambling to explain why there has been no recorded warming of the Earth in the last 18 years.  They have so far come up with 52 possible reasons for what they’re calling the “pause” in global warming, ranging from low solar activity to “coincidence.”

The late Tom Clancey had the proper solution for these insane people in his superb novel, “Rainbow Six.”

“Rainbow Six” is a great read; John Clark and his “Rainbow” warriors solved the problem about as well as it could have been solved, IMHO.

Hint: the solution was most definitely not Politically Correct!

When is he going to lead the way and kill himself?

Global Warming is not due to human contribution of Carbon Dioxide - Global Warming: The Cold, Hard Facts? By Timothy Ball

No Smoking Hot Spot (The Australian)

The missing hotspot (JoNova)

Those two articles take Greenhouse Theory at face value and by the criterion set up in the theory itself finds no evidence of warming on the basis of greenhouse effect.

Sky-high hole blown in AGW theory?

"Forbes reports on a peer-reviewed study that uses NASA data to show that the effects of carbon-based warming have been significantly exaggerated. In fact, much of the heat goes out into space rather than stay trapped in the atmosphere, an outcome that started long before AGW alarmists predicted:"

That article explains why no Hot Spot has been found.

The Hidden Flaw in Greenhouse Theory

Falsification Of The Atmospheric CO2 Greenhouse Effects Within The Frame Of Physics

Harvard astrophysicist dismisses AGW theory, challenges peers to 'take back climate science'

It Is Impossible For A 100 ppm Increase In Atmospheric CO2 Concentration To Cause Global Warming

Simple Chemistry and the Real Greenhouse Effect.

Those five articles each show that Greenhouse Theory has no basis in reality due to a direct conflict with the known laws of physics. No wonder the smoking gun "hotspot" can't be found.

Claim That Sea Level Is Rising Is a Total Fraud

That article kills any thought of planetary warming from any cause. Think about it. If there is absolutely no sign of an acceleration of sea level rise how could the planet be warming? The rise in sea level in the last 100 years is far less than the average over the last 18,000 years caused by the inter-glacial period we are in.

Actually, this is old news going back decades. Not to worry. Obozo is “taking steps”. That those steps lead to our premature GRAVES is of no concern to these green idiots!

HIV and EBOLA: How Political Correctness Will Get You Killed!
The ongoing – and expanding –Ebola situation and how it’s being handled (or, more accurately, NOT being handled) has a parallel with the HIV panic of a number of years ago.
It may ALSO be another manifestation of the schizophrenic nature of the hard leftists who unfortunately sit at the levers of power in this country and whose double-mindedness should now be clear to all but the dullest among us.
Allow me to explain.
A San Francisco (where else?) based and HIV infected “leader”of the homosexual community began a serious campaign encouraging fellow HIV carriers to attempt to bypass or defeat the donor screening process and actively donate into the national blood supply. When pressed as to his justification for jeopardizing the entire nation, he declared that if HIV spread out into the “straight” community, it would almost certainly catalyze and accelerate the search for a vaccine.
Am I the only “conspiracy buff” to see the similarities between that and what’s going on today vis-a-vis Ebola?
I hadn’t thought about this angle until I heard Rush recently ranting about some author who’d written that because Liberia was founded by former slaves who returned to Africa, it was our unfortunate institution of slavery that is directly responsible for Ebola in the western nations of Africa. (Please note that I stop FAR short of the recent utterances of Calypso Louie Farrakan who claims that Ebola was created by evil white men to kill blacks!)
But I digress. That reasoning that America is responsible for Ebola – if it can be called “reasoning” – holds that it is America’s place to come to their rescue with a “cure”. And how better to “catalyze and accelerate” that process than to INFECT as many native born Americans HERE with the disease as possible?
Now here’s where the schizophrenia comes into the picture:
There is a growing group of folks who believe that the earth cannot support the current population approaching 7.3 billion. The bulk of them are in the same leftist camp as those now directing the present halfhearted “effort” against Ebola. Many of them are one and the SAME people directing the Ebola thing! The most radical of them embrace the words of a speaker at an early green movement/save-the-earth rally in California. Odd coincidence that, aye? He declared that “Man is the ultimate DISEASE of nature.” He got a standing O for that line!
From that meeting and others still being conducted, the greenies now believe that the 7.3 billion MUST be reduced to around 1 billion or less. And which members of which nations, ethnic groups or races are “eliminated” is irrelevant – so long as THEY are excluded!
Scriptures informs us that “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.” The writer must have known a fair number of the leftists of his day.
Back to my question.
If, on one hand, the leftists are sincere in their effort to SAVE THE EARTH from overpopulation, why would they attempt to save the victims of Ebola and allow them to come here?
Could it be that allowing them to come here with the disease (and sending 3,000 potential military carriers THERE to bring it back with them) while portraying these actions to the noinfo masses as the compassionate thing to do is part of the same scheme attempted earlier by the HIV crowd?
I suggest that we prepare ourselves for the spread of the this 60% to 90% fatal disease among the population of this nation. (This may have been the reason for the Homeland Security “drills” about some “zombie apocalypse”.) This IS, after all, the same America that is hated by Obama and the One World leftists now in control here as the source of every evil committed in the rest of the world and for which evils it must be properly punished?
Do I really think these miscreants – living in their sanitized and safe gated “compounds” — would do that?
After witnessing 6 years of this gang’s criminal behavior, I absolutely think that!

PS: With respect to the controversy concerning ebola’s ability to be “airborne”, last time I checked the stuff that is emitted from one’s nasal passages during a sneeze is mucosa (the polite word for snot) and, inasmuch as it came from the body, I suspect it would qualify as a “bodily fluid”.
Given that, does it not follow that if another person were to catch one of those sneezes full in the face, eyes, nose, mouth or somewhere else where an opening in the skin were present, the virus could be introduced into that person’s body?

Guy McPherson was given a full professorship at UofA, then left the school after freaking out at age 49, and moved to a "hay bale" house (literally) in rural New Mexico.

Figures -- most of the nut cases end up in northern New Mexico where they probably are still trying to find the source of the Taos Hum. One of the most unusual collections of nut housing to be found is on US 64 on the west side of the Taos Gorge bridge. Looking like right out of the Flintstones cartoon creations, the houses are made out of rock, hay bales, beer cans, tires and any number of other raw materials except traditional building supplies.

For those who mock Jesus and His followers, this is where godless ideology leads. This shrunken soul thinks this life is all there is, but he is wrong. “It is appointed unto man once to die and after this, the judgment.” This world will end when God ends His story, and no one knows when that will be.

Destroy human civilization as we know it.

What some nihilists value is the thought of other human beings suffering. What they don't understand is the power and ability of reason to gain the necessary knowledge that will produce the economic progress that will enable the capitalist wealthy countries to be better able to overcome any negative effects of global warming, if it does occur.
