First, I want to make one thing perfectly clear: It is the stated position of Erick and the mods that Red State advocates voting for the most conservative candidate in the primaries, and the Republican in the general election. I agree with that, and it is not my intent here to troll or disrupt. Anyone who has read my earlier diaries knows that. However, if those in charge feel this diary strays over the line, they should take it down.
People, this is MISSISSIPPI. This is totally different. What has happened here is an abomination. Everyone here knows what was done to Chris McDaniel in the primary and the run-off. The Republican establishment used the vilest, most despicable tactics to renominate a senile fool to the US Senate. They committed massive electoral fraud; they stole the election.
Three months ago, disgusted at what had just occurred in the Magnolia State, I posted a diary, actually, more of a diatribe:
So, would it really be THAT bad if we dont win the Senate in November?
http://www.redstate.com/diary/gawken/2014/06/27/really-bad-dont-win-senate-november/
To my utter astonishment, it was promoted to the front page ( first time ever) and received 140 comments. The majority agreed with my sentiments, and shared my frustrations and disgust.
Since that time, McDaniel has lost several attempts to have the election overturned, and is awaiting the outcome of one last, albeit long-shot court ruling. State law requires that the ballots be printed very soon.
It now appears, less than 5 weeks out, that the Republicans will win control of the Senate. GOP seats in Kentucky and Georgia that were earlier deemed at risk now appear safe. It could well turn into a wave election for the GOP. As we get closer, the polls will be even more accurate. By mid October, we should be able to get a better sense of the size of the incoming Republican majority.
If Cochran is reelected, then the GOPe wins, big time. They literally will get away with stealing an election. And most likely, within a year, Cochran will retire, and Haley Barbour will hand pick his successor.
McDaniel and his supporters have declared war on the state GOPe, and vowed to dismantle the party establishment in 2015. I wish them success. It is long overdue.
But if indeed, this is a war, then why not let it begin now?
With a preemptive strike!
The GOP base, the Tea Party, social conservatives in Mississippi are highly organized and motivated. McDaniels primary campaign demonstrated that.
So, if were some ten days from election day, and all the polls look good, then its easy to use the internet and social media to get the message out to McDaniels supporters:
1. Vote for Childers, or
2. Dont vote for any senate candidate.
That should be more than enough to elect Childers.
I suspect Childers will be a far more moderate senator..I cant see him running to do Reids or Schumers bidding.
Haley Barbour awoke a sleeping giant. Time to pay the piper!
And I would remind all of you that if the GOP establishment gets away with this, theyll pull out all the stops to keep a real conservative from getting nominated for the White House. Why do you think we are all of a sudden hearing all this talk about more Mitt?
For a multitude of reasons, its time to put Cochran out to pasture, even if doing so requires electing a Democrat.
Totally agree. It is more important for conservatives for Cochran to go down than just about anything else. As a point of reference, look at how blacks are treated by Democrats! They vote 95% of the time with Democrats, and they would vote for Satan if he had a (D) next to his name. The result? Every time there is a policy choice that would benefit blacks or other constituencies, Democrats don’t hesitate to stab blacks in the back (from school choice, to gay friendly policies, to allowing illegal aliens in). Do conservatives want to end up like that? Well, the only alternative is to not allow ourselves to be taken for granted, and punish the GOPe for unacceptable behavior.
Remember Mississippi! If we play our cards right, we’ll make sure the GOPe remembers Mississippi as well the next time they even think of attaching conservatism to win elections.
The same can be said for Kentucky. I don't expect a Democrat senator in Kentucky to go all flaming radical liberal and survive a second election.
The question is what is the expected margin of victory? How many seats do we have to give and still maintain the majority? Right now, I'd settle for a narrow lead that doesn't include first McConnell and second Cochran.
As long as Republicans take the Senate, it doesn't matter how a Kentucky Democrat or Mississippi Democrat votes, as long as 1) Republicans still win the vote on bills, and 2) Republicans don't do something stupid like restore minority filibuster rights for nominees. Chances of #2 are reduced without McConnell in the Senate.

“I just attribute all these purist litmus threads to voter suppression trolls and useful idiots helping voter suppression.”
I think you are absolutely right!
Enjoy that knife in the back. You seem to have a thing for it.
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
I can deal with backstabbers. It’s the mob of lawlessness and the judges they approve for life I have a harder time dealing with.
Wasn't always true. Zell Miller was more conservative than a lot of Republicans, including McCain. But then Zell retired, and that record retired with him.
So. Voting for a democrat is a no-no. But how is that any better or worse than voting for a liberal who just happens to have an (R) after their name?
I know.. Its all about percentages. A democrat is wrong 90 percent of the time while a RINO is only wrong 50% of the time. But how about writing in McDaniel?
Sure, The democrat will win, but if you keep feeding the RINO machine, then don't expect any real change.
I see the use of the word purists in this context in the same vein as anti-semite or bigot.
Its an ad hominem directed at conservatives and its only purpose is to demean, ridicule and divide.
We need as many Senate seats as possible to offset expected losses in 2016, when many more Republicans are up than Dems. IMHO we can absorb a one seat loss, no more.
Youre also dead wrong on restoring the nominee filibuster. It needs to go back to 60. Otherwise you’ll see McCain, Graham, whatshername from Maine and a couple others crossing the aisle to give the Dems the 50 votes they need to continue packing the Courts with Obama-appointed Liberals.
Yes it is. The Mississippi Senate race is the only one I advocate that approach THIS YEAR. There are a number of other races at the US House level (e.g., Renee Elmers in North Carolina, an open Amnesty Advocate) where the Congress Critter’s duplicity is so despicable they deserve to be removed from office so they don’t counteract true conservative voices/votes within the Republican caucus.
Conservatives have had nothing to do with corrupt RINO deals that will lead to Childers getting the majority vote.
Don’t you dare blame conservatives when the GOP-e conspired against us. If Obama is going to thank anyone, it will be the top-brass Repugs at the State and National levels.
I see both sides.
Our principal enemy in the Senate, however, is Harry Reid. He MUST be stopped at all costs.
There is no such thing as a moderate Democrat in the US Senate.
Travis Childers will not be the first one, either. He will go along to get along with Harry Reid, like the rest of the Dems.
Hold your nose and vote Republican.
You are not voting for Cochran-—you are voting to get rid of Harry Reid as the leader of the Senate.
That is the best service you can do for America at this moment in time—get rid of Harry Reid.
I am no longer a Republican. I want to see a new political arty and kick the GOP to the curb like the Whigs of old
However, in the one week we have remaining voting Republican is the best thing any of us can do for the nation as a whole.
It is what it is.
From your home page:
“The government and country that I want to live in is one that has freedom and respect for all and that is based on the constitution of the United States as it was originally written with the Bill of Rights and its amendments. I do not want socialism or a tyrannical government or anything that is heading to progressivism and radical anarchy and communism.
If you’re still reading this, here are twenty plus things about me.I am:
1. Anti-New World Order, Anti-IslamoFascism, Anti-Cultural Marxism, Anti-Statist and Anti-Obama.”
So how is this consistent with your trolling for a Democrat Senator and a Democrat Senate to support Obama?!
Enjoy that knife in the back. You seem to have a thing for it.

I would imagine their fat ugly spouses beats them up at least once a month. But they come crawling back for more.
“Mark Levin had a proposal: that each cycle Conservatives should identify one Senator to target for defeat in the general election by staying home or voting for the Democrat.
But only one, not enough to swing control of the Senate but enough to send a strong message about keeping to Conservative principles and that the Conservative base can organize.”
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
More genius from Levin. He is truly a national treasure.
What Cochrane and Barbour did is truly despicable, and worthy of being Levin’s target. The problem is that we just may need EVERY seat, including Cochrane’s. Getting Cochrane out would be a Pyrrhic victory, however, if we did not gain control of the Senate.
Let’s get the majority and let Ted Cruz sort it out. Can the Senate vote to censure Cochrane after the election? Perhaps even impeach him?
“I see the use of the word purists in this context in the same vein as anti-semite or bigot.
Its an ad hominem directed at conservatives and its only purpose is to demean, ridicule and divide.”
Exactly correct. Plus, they can’t figure out that calling good, passionately solid conservatives “voter suppression trolls” is a stupid move. Smearing conservatives with false accusations is a Dem/liberal ploy. It doesn’t work so well when conservatives use it against fellow conservatives.
Accepting stolen goods makes one an accessory to the theft. Thad Cochran stole the nomination from Chris McDaniel, and is therefore not derserving of anyone’s vote. If the GOP maintains no standards, it is no better than the Democrats. I cannot support Cochran with a clear conscience.
I have a bridge to sell you in Brooklyn, its pretty cheap.
Why did you post this month old crap now?
