OK, I apologize.....since you're obviously hard of hearing, I'll ask the question again:
PLEASE POST A LINK!
Just ignore the Marine regulations and publications.
Not just te stuntmen/stunt women, the villains are way too lenient. If anyone from the James Bond films, for instance, had any idea how many people he has killed, a lot of real life enemies would kill him fast. Not to mention the facts that if you fall into enemy hands, they can do all sorts of nasty things to you. Finally, if you are part of an enemy army, and someone is shooting at you, you aren’t going to care or bother finding out if the shooter is a man or woman, you will shoot at them, and with enough shots, you will likely get one hit. As an American soldier, you are prone I getting shot at and hit, and the enemy who wants to survive or kill Americans, won’t care.
Is that why as an Army E-1 I was in charge of G-2 early warning for better than half of the Korean DMZ? That is an O-4 or O-3 slot. But tell me more about the Marines, where I grew up, as my father was a Gunnery Sergeant.
I did at post #154. I wasn’t your first grade teacher, so it’s not my fault.
Thank you for your comment. Obviously you used your brain and not your “feelings” to come to that decision! Libs use “feelings” to figure out the world’s issues. Not brains, thinking, logic.
So tell me, just who is MAJOR GEORGE FLYNN and why is he impersonating a marine corps. officer?
Just out of curiosity I looked to see what Marines were carrying into combat in the most recent unpleasantness. Per the Marine Corps Times;
“According to a Naval Research Advisory Committee report, the average Marine carries 97 to 135 pounds in combat loads far above the recommended weight of 50 pounds. The bulk of the weight carried is protective equipment.”
http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/article/20080122/NEWS/801220310/Downside-full-combat-load-examined
This is consistent with the loads we were carrying in Desert Storm.
Other than the fact you may have read something different in an Army pub, I’m not sure what we are arguing about.
We’re arguing because you are a pain in the ass. You can easily do a search and find marine docs which reference the army docs/research. That offends you, but I don’t really care.
I was in the Air Force and carried a pack for part of my time. We knew how to read.
And, yes, I am quite conservative. I dont question anyones conservative credentials, belittle there comments, and have no respect for anyone who takes that tact as the means to dismiss anothers comments.
I don’t care whether or not you are conservative.
I can tell you’ve never been in combat.
Why in the hell are you asking me? Tomorrow morning, call Headquarters, Marine Corps, at (703) 614-2500 and ask for General James F. Amos, the Commandant.
Liberals don’t necessarily use “feelings” to make policy decisions. They tend to use abstractions such as “women’s rights.”
Unfortunately, those abstractions sometimes don’t correspond to reality.
Welcome to FR
Depending on the unit and the mission, each man can be carrying 160 to over 200 pounds.
Bravo 2 zero for instance has it’s members describing the weight they were carrying as “”The total weight of each member’s kit was estimated at 95 kg (209 lb) by Mitchell and 120 kg (260 lb) by Ryan””
Listen up, newby.
I’ve been married to a soldier for a quarter century and half my female friends were soldiers at one point or another.
When I say that women can’t cut in combat arms, I’m not full of crap or being sexist. Women break easier. Women get more stress injuries than men. Heck, women get hurt and fall out of basic at a greater rate than men.
This is reality.
What you call ‘sexist’ we call ‘being realistic’.
One day soon a woman will survive the training.
But she won’t last for five years in the job before her body breaks beyond repair. The US military is paying for the training of a service member and gambling that they’ll get 20 years out of that body before it breaks.
Now we’re going to encourage women to snap themselves before they’re thirty and we will be paying for their medical and upkeep for the next fifty years. That is not a good investment.
This is reality. Not sexism.
Feminism tends to break down in the face of reality.
Look at the date that they joined.
Have you served?
The course is designed to weed out the weakest. Not to help everyone pass.
I think that menopausal mothers (like me) would do much more damage. ;-)
it seems clearly apparent why they were asked to leave.
men are probably just told to get their asses out if/when they don’t make it.
