I have said it before on these threads....
Seems like there was a year's amount of news every day back in '39- '45. I don't see how people kept up.

"...I don't see how people kept up." Plus, every reader had a son, husband, brothers, cousins, sweetheart, neighbors, classmates, close friends, and even young women in every theater & operation.
Of course, it must have helped when the news, as "today's" was generally pretty good!
