It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the Capitol to the federal courthouse just down the hill, but House Republicans havent managed to make that trip in the four months since they announced theyd be suing the president.
House Speaker John Boehner came out swinging hard last June when he announced that his chamber would take President Barack Obama to court. The suit, charging that the president grossly exceeded his constitutional authority by failing to implement portions of the Obamacare law, was billed as an election-season rallying point for aggrieved Republicans. But days before the midterms the Houses legal guns seem to have fallen silent.
Lawyers close to the process said they originally expected the legal challenge to be filed in September but now they dont expect any action before the elections.

I’m sure his gnomes will be here soon to explain it all away.
I was sitting at a four way stop the other day, waiting to turn left. The banal, mechanical, mindless motions I was through inspired me to think about John Boehner. I thought, “I wonder how their lawsuit is going.” I knew the answer, and this article confirms what I knew.
But vote Republican! Or else!
No matter what!
For the children! So they can all get new polio or ebola too! OH THANK YOU GOP!! THANK YOU!!!
What is needed is Republican control of both houses with Boehner and McConnell losing their seats.
Boehner is establishment and he considers the Democrats to be his political allies more than the Tea Party and conservatives in the Republican Party. He’s a compromised individual with plenty of dirt on him, which is why he’ll never take up the battle against the Democrats in congress. If we’re ever going to get something done in DC he and McConnell plus the rest of the GOPe have to be kicked out of positions of power.
Bammy’s not gonna get sued by his “best friend” Boner.
In all fairness to Boooner, perhaps they’re simply postponing suing for a strategic reason because suing President Narcissus BEFORE the midterm elections might adversely affect some Repubs chances of winning?
I suppose we’ll know when we see what Repubs do after the mid-terms.
-—”In all fairness to Boooner, perhaps theyre simply postponing suing for a strategic reason because suing President Narcissus BEFORE the midterm elections might adversely affect some Repubs chances of winning?”
(BY that I mean, might rally more Democryte zombies out to vote AGAINST repubs...)
"Levin . . . warned that Obama would likely win the court case, which would then embolden the president to go around Congress with more executive orders."
The courts could also reject the suit arguing that the Constitution provides other means and tell Boehner, "It is the Congress' responsibility.. you idiot!"
Who can argue that the Congress' Constitution responsibilities do not apply? That this has to be handed off to the third part of government?
From the Chambers to the chamber pot..
Void the bowels of Washington, D.C. 2014 - 2016
I think he announced the idea of this suit to prop himself up and make him look like a conservative rather than the statist he is.
” Boehner is establishment and he considers the Democrats to be his political allies more than the Tea Party and conservatives in the Republican Party. Hes a compromised individual with plenty of dirt on him, which is why hell never take up the battle against the Democrats in congress. If were ever going to get something done in DC he and McConnell plus the rest of the GOPe have to be kicked out of positions of power.”
Not easy. The pro-amnesty businessmen own them, and they have millions invested in RINOS.
He’s been pretty much worthless.
As much as I can’t stand Pelosi, at least she moved her party’s agenda forward.
We get Mr. Feckless as a Speaker...
“...I was sitting at a four way stop the other day, waiting to turn left. ...”
Apparently, there are some in the GOP waiting for November to “turn left” too.
Replacing Boehner with a Conservative would be a good way to prove otherwise.
McConnell is just as deadly.
