Breaking: Mississippi Supreme Court Rules for Cochran [my title]
Mississippi Supreme Court ^ | October 24, 2014 | Mississippi Supreme Court

Posted on 10/24/2014 3:41:51 PM PDT by Lurking Libertarian

No news article to post-- the only article so far is in the Clarion-Ledger, which we can't post. But the Mississippi Supreme Court affirmed the lower court ruling that Chris McDaniel's challenge to Thad Cochran's primary win was filed too late. The Court's decision is here.

People don’t like fraud exposed; they usually won’t vote for the victim of fraud again. They blame the victim instead of the criminal. It’s the way the American people are.

MS won’t count write-ins of a candidate eliminated in the primary.

I never understood why McDaniel waited to long to file even if he didn’t yet have all the materials he needed. As a lawyer, he knew the liberal court would be unforgiving of such a lapse.

I’ve read that the GOPe asked him to wait and “give them a chance to take care of it.” This is what you get when you trust the party leadership.

Whatever happens,I’m not voting for Cochran.

I’m not supporting Cornyn. He’s up for reelection and he was involved with the smear campaign.

McDaniel’s statement via Facebook:

“Republicans in Mississippi are still left wanting for justice after June’s Republican primary
was decided by more than 40,000 Democrats,” McDaniel said. “Worse yet, the courts refused
even to hear our challenge,” McDaniel said.

“When we launched this campaign over a year ago, we committed to fight to the very end,
and many conservatives showed a great deal of courage in standing up with us,” he continued.
“And the fight to save our republic is only just beginning.”

“But now it is time to turn the page and work to enact true conservative change in Mississippi
and in Washington, D.C.,” said McDaniel.

“It is my hope that conservatives in Mississippi will view this decision as a driving factor to
get involved in Republican politics so we can change our state for the better for future generations.”

“In the coming days, I’ll be asking conservatives to join us as we continue our fight for
principled leadership,” concluded McDaniel

For example, if an election were proven a year later to be fraudulent, then the timing imposed on challenges — designed to expedite the seating of newly elected officials — would be moot.

Thank you for your correct usage of moot. Too many times do I hear of "mute points". :-)

Overdue.

To be frank McDaniel was not worthy of the hard work and dedication his supporters showed. As a lawyer his inability to schedule his own appeal just seems lazy.

Oh well, I hear his radio gig is open again..

We are writing in McDaniel, we know it won’t be counted but those that need to know will know. I will not vote for childers the democrat, he cannot be trusted any more than cochran and as cochran delivers for rinos childers will deliver big for the democrats when it’s needed.

At this point all you can do “legally” is keep the “winner’s” vote total much lower than normal.

The Republican establishment is a bunch of corrupt traitors to the Republic. They obviously hate conservative Constitutional principles more than anything.

There isn’t a deadline for an election result to be challenqed, if I’m understandinq correctly.

There is a deadline to challenge it in state court, in every state. The MS Supreme Court held that McDaniel blew that deadline. Ultimately, though, the Constitution says that the Senate is the final judge of all election challenges to the elections of its members, so in theory McDaniel could challenge Cochran there.

BTW, couldn't you replace your old keyboard to get a working "G" key again?

If you sit out Cornball, you must also sit out George P. for land commissioner, OK?

“I wonder when Americans will learn that you cannot stop tyranny by civil means, period.”

I used to think we could but that was when I thought people still had honor.

We will just not be endorsing tyranny any more by going rural, self-sufficient, and keeping in the lowest tax brackets. I suggest anyone in a position to do so do the same. Or get ready to by saving money and embracing a simpler lifestyle.

As long as we feed the beast, it will grow.

Then, sit back and see if the rebellion starts or does fascism win.

“I’m not voting for him”

Logic was dictate that, if it is better for Roberts to lose, then one must vote for that Indy/Dem. Anything else is illogical and, by definition, a falsehood.

Is it preferred that Roberts lose?

That ballot is a YES/No issue. Roberts? Win or lose?

“The first enemy we need to defeat is the GOP”

you do that by voting for the DEM/Indy
it is completely logical.

Here in CT, if is better that the RINO loses, then I vote for the DEM. If the result of the election is certain before election day (meaning that it is not very close), I likely vote 3rd-party.

But I voted for Linda McMahon each time over her 2 commie opponents. And likely will vote Foley this fall. I never vote blank. But If the election is close and it is better for the GOPer to lose, I vote for the DEM.

“People should be going to jail for this.”

it is a big country and plenty of people with the authority are in a position to prosecute to the full extent of the law. So, yes, count me in.

On the other hand, this is MS ... not an easy place to get all the facts in front of a prosecutor, even if it is a federal prosecutor. The iRS might even have an interest in this.

Fascism is already here and installed. We are no longer a Republic, we are in a post-Constituional MarxoFascist oligarchy. We just refuse to see it for what it is, because most Americans have a fatal case of Normalcy Bias.

Where does MS statute qive the deadline to challenqe a primary runoff, and what is that deadline? Is there anythinq in MS statute which says what is to be done when election fraud has altered the result of an election? Any penalty for certification of a known-fraudulent result?

This is my laptop. I could pluq a different keyboard in but space is short and it’s a pain.
