The Establishment Almost Had Me
freedomoutpost.com ^ | 10/24/14

Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter almost had me convinced the other night. They almost had me. I think even Mark Levin hinted at it.

Elect Republicans, any republican, to stop Obama's agenda and get rid of Harry Reid.

Ann Coulter was so animated over it that I thought she was going to melt down. She was visibly and mockingly furious with anyone stupid enough not to vote for those like Mitch McConnell, or her love, as she describes him, Scott Brown. All the republicans she is pushing are Chamber of Commerce, big government hacks.

Anyway, this seems to be the refrain from the right, not just from the establishment, but also from conservatives. We must halt the Obama surge and throw out Harry Reid, so let's hold our collective noses once again and pull the lever.

And then what? And then no one has an answer because there is no answer, and they will not allow that question to be asked.

So, I guess I'll ask it again. And then what? Republicans take control of the House and Senate and then what?

Let me also answer that. Nothing gets done. At least nothing we want. Nothing gets slowed down or stalled. Nothing gets repealed. And why? Well, they already have a built in excuse for that. Now they need the presidency in 2016 to really get things done.

It is terrible to consider two more years of Democrat Senate Control, but no less terrible to consider the result of GOPe control.

That is absolute nonsense. You think Jeff Sessions and Ted Cruz won’t have a voice? They can stop a lot of things from happening. They can stop a lot of things from hitting the senate floor.

There are those here at FR who advanced that strategy. After 16 years of posting here I thought I had seen everything but I had never seen people here arguing that voting for democrats was a good strategy. Took me aback and I might add pissed me off. Write in a candidate, skip the line, vote libertarian or conservative party but vote for a democrat? Insane.

Those are called conservative posts.

Some people still think they can morph FreeRepublic into a Republican site.

Stay home and you will find out how great your decision was.

Hint: It won’t help the conservative cause one bit. It will further entench the RAT party and Obama.

In Indiana, we don’t have a very important role in the 2014 elections.

I am going to vote to vote out the RAT sheriff of Marion County. This guy has let dangerous felons out of the pokey.

The country is most likely over anyway. Dems win the whole thing, I will prepare for the worst for my kids and grandkids.

Exactly! What have the republicans done to EARN our vote?

Act like Democrats and then blame us when they lose. They'll blame us if they win, cuz it's our fault more people don't like them. It's pathetic. They try to be nice and court the vote of everybody but the base who they think they can whip into obedience every election.

I am pretty sure getting hit by a car is better than getting hit by a bus, but just because I chose not to get hit by the car doesn’t mean I have chosen to get hit by the bus.

Brilliant remark. The populus consists of R’s and D’s and dumb asses.

Who cares who administers the ills? Stay home then.

All the ills facing this country have come at the hands of Republicans and Democrats.

Then start your own party. Vote democrat, republican, another party, or don’t vote.

The options suck!!! We know that!!! You don’t have to tell us that. But most of us are smart enough to determine the best option we have at this time.

Because they are anti-American Marxist pricks and when you vote for one you advance anti-American Marxist prickism.
Clear enough for you?

Bush Jr. wasn’t a conservative, we can remedy that with our NEXT choice for POTUS!

On that we can agree!

Let’s see now - Vote for a party that WILL bring more evil or vote for a party that MIGHT bring some evil? That’s a tough choice, I guess.

In many cases, that is a distinction without moral difference.

Generally, not if one remains objective, truly has a desire to make the best decision and focuses on the word, "lesser".

In the case at hand, given the current politics the moral differences are quite obvious.

Yes, we need to see the R party in control of the Senate. I agree that is preferable to having the Red Brigade (aka Dem party) in charge. If the Dem’s are in charge, the judiciary, including USSC justices, will be replaced soon with bat crazy Stalinists. Of course, Obama will still be around if the R party wins the Senate and he will nominate judges that are indistinguishable from the cast of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest.

However, the R party will listen, even if only a little, to Americans and may question some nominees. The Dems will not. Tax increases are also slightly less likely under an R party Senate.

Unfortunately, as long as the R party does everything they can to make the Dem propaganda system (aka mainstream media) like them, neither party is good for the nation. The first stop to fixing that is to generate a better communication system—and that includes putting the R party in charge of the Senate. It is a small step forward.

I vote conservative, I voted conservative in the
Primary, they man I voted for didn’t win.
Now, I will still vote as conservative as I can,
Who is more conservative, a democrat or a republican?
To allow Harry Reid to continue to hold the Senate
hostage any longer is to allow the continued destruction
of our system of government.

I know how I’ll vote on election day.

Getting a little nasty there, friend. I thought we were going to have a nice conversation. Insults are a sign of a desperate individual. Too bad.
