The Establishment Almost Had Me
freedomoutpost.com ^ | 10/24/14

Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter almost had me convinced the other night. They almost had me. I think even Mark Levin hinted at it.

Elect Republicans, any republican, to stop Obama's agenda and get rid of Harry Reid.

Ann Coulter was so animated over it that I thought she was going to melt down. She was visibly and mockingly furious with anyone stupid enough not to vote for those like Mitch McConnell, or her love, as she describes him, Scott Brown. All the republicans she is pushing are Chamber of Commerce, big government hacks.

Anyway, this seems to be the refrain from the right, not just from the establishment, but also from conservatives. We must halt the Obama surge and throw out Harry Reid, so let's hold our collective noses once again and pull the lever.

And then what? And then no one has an answer because there is no answer, and they will not allow that question to be asked.

So, I guess I'll ask it again. And then what? Republicans take control of the House and Senate and then what?

Let me also answer that. Nothing gets done. At least nothing we want. Nothing gets slowed down or stalled. Nothing gets repealed. And why? Well, they already have a built in excuse for that. Now they need the presidency in 2016 to really get things done.

During Bush's first term, Republicans controlled both houses of Congress and the White House. And, as the author points out, nothing got done.

It's moronic contention. We got tax cuts. Far more conservative justices on the SCOTUS than under Obama or Clinton. We didn't get a government takeover of healthcare. We didn't ended up with gays in the military or troops being exposed to Ebola. Or open borders. Or a corrupted IRS. Or a President bypassing congress to enact amnesty for illegals.

It's absolutely IDIOTIC to claim there is no difference between the parties.

First, Bush wasn't a conservative. But, he still passed through tax cuts and FAR better judges on the Supreme Court than Kagan and Sotomayer. We also didn't see the Republicans try to pass a government takeover of healthcare.

What do you call Medicare part D?

Point well taken, but I’m still unsure as to why you were responding to my post about FreeRepublic. But nevermind. I’ll take back the newbie charge; welcome back.

Voting for Republicans has not changed anything

Allowing Democrats control of Congress and the White House has changed a lot of things. From Obamacare to open borders to a caliphate that is inspiring terrorist attacks within our borders.

The GOP has proven over and over again that they won’t fight when it comes to the issues I care about or animate my votes.

Every single Republican didn't vote against Obamcare?

People like you that whine and take your ball and go home gave us Obamcare by allowing Democrats enough power to pass it.

And yet Bush:

1. Did every thing in his power to get Amnesty passed (A Nation killer).
2. Passed TARP famously stating: Bush: “I’ve abandoned free market principles to save the free market system”

Laughable.

With Bush in charge, if he could have made it happen, you'd have the very same open borders.

Bush fell victim to that all too prevalent political agenda, his legacy. Bush thought that politics were no different than student body president, a popularity contest. Bush wanted everyone to like him.

I don’t want Romney to run, but a desperately want the Republicans to get control of the Senate. I am willing to hold my nose and vote for almost ant Republican on the national level, maybe not locally, but nationally, yes.

First a little humor ... sorry author unknown ...

>
> HEAVEN AND HELL
>
> While walking down the street one day a Corrupt Senator was tragically hit by a car and died.
>
> His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.
>
> “Welcome to heaven,” says St. Peter. “Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we’re not sure what to do with you.”
>
> “No problem, just let me in,” says the Senator.
>
> “Well, I’d like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we’ll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity.”
>
> “Really?, I’ve made up my mind. I want to be in heaven,” says the Senator.
>
> “I’m sorry, but we have our rules.”
>
> And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.
>
> The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.
>
> Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They played a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne.
>
> Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes.
>
> They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go.
>
> Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises.
>
> The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, “Now it’s time to visit heaven...”
>
> So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.
>
> “Well, then, you’ve spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity.”
>
> The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: “Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell.”
>
> So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell...
>
> Now the doors of the elevator open and he’s in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above
>
> The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders.
>
> “I don’t understand,” stammers the Senator. “Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there’s just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?”
>
> The devil smiles at him and says, “Yesterday we were campaigning, Today, you voted..”
>
> Vote wisely in November

I think we’re in a circle, and a stalemate in this conversation, because you won’t convince me and I won’t convince you.

I am willing to work with GOP-e (and even fight them if necessary) to defeat the commies.

Where are the g*ddamned bastard GOP fighting this fag-marriage depravity? Quiet as church mice, and folding like yellow-bellied cowards! Give them my votes? I’d like to kill them, with my own fingers embedded in their throats. They claimed for years to be against judicial activism, and for family values. What lying scumbags most have turned out to be.

Some.

I believe they will some. That’s a lot better than none.

Obama getting totally carried away with executive orders over the next two years will fundamentally change our nation. Any roadblocks in his way should help. They can also cut off funding for a lot of his BS.

Sadly, the same question arrises, will they? After Harry Reid changed the rules and stacked the 5th Circuit, we heard the Republicans were going to slow the Senate by being confrontational on all legislation. They did it one time before resuming their non-confrontational demeanor. I would be solidly behind Republicans if I felt confident they were going to tackle a single issue while in control of the House, and Senate. Unfortunately, we measure victory by how much the Democrats don't get...this time.

"They aren't willing to work slowly"

In case you haven't freakin noticed- the country is on its last leg. I DON'T EVEN RECOGNIZE IT NOW-Exactly how much "time" do you think we have left?

The only instance where I've seen the worthless slugs in GOP leadership show any concern or passion, was NOT when all the atrocities, abuses, and attacks were launched against the American people, by the current administration. The only time they showed any concern, or made any effort , was when they decided to "crush the Tea Party"-The Tea Party who worked hard to help them get elected in the first place.

They (GOP) really shouldn't be surprised that some are hesitating to support them-But instead of trying to find some way to make amends, the GOP doubles down with more insults, and despicable tactics in Mississippi-which they have never even tried to apologize for.

And finally-How does so-called compromise with out and out radical leftist marxists, who are trying to tear down our nation-How does cutting deals with them do anything to save it-in the short or long term?

That is clearly wrong.

Amazing. Romney touted his Romneycare in his presidential campaign, and Obamacare is based upon Romneycare... And your vaunted Republicans have already vowed that they will not get rid of Obamacare, but that they will tinker with it to make it better. None are so blind as those who will not see.

The ONLY reason liberalism is finding success is because there is no opposition to it.

Wake up.
