Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter almost had me convinced the other night. They almost had me. I think even Mark Levin hinted at it.
Elect Republicans, any republican, to stop Obama's agenda and get rid of Harry Reid.
Ann Coulter was so animated over it that I thought she was going to melt down. She was visibly and mockingly furious with anyone stupid enough not to vote for those like Mitch McConnell, or her love, as she describes him, Scott Brown. All the republicans she is pushing are Chamber of Commerce, big government hacks.
Anyway, this seems to be the refrain from the right, not just from the establishment, but also from conservatives. We must halt the Obama surge and throw out Harry Reid, so let's hold our collective noses once again and pull the lever.
And then what? And then no one has an answer because there is no answer, and they will not allow that question to be asked.
So, I guess I'll ask it again. And then what? Republicans take control of the House and Senate and then what?
Let me also answer that. Nothing gets done. At least nothing we want. Nothing gets slowed down or stalled. Nothing gets repealed. And why? Well, they already have a built in excuse for that. Now they need the presidency in 2016 to really get things done.

Despite your kind words, you are still missing the point, pal.
In short, I think the difference between us is that I would rather try to persuade someone like Romney to lead in a manner that best serves the population, than try to persuade someone like O to do likewise.
On the other hand, it appears that you are with the group that would assume the fetal position when it was time to take action.
I believed what you do ten years ago. I have watched too many things happen since to continue the delusion.
I have been voting for over forty years and most of it holding my nose. Frankly, my nose has had all the abuse it is going to take.
no, I think it’s exactly the nation I see - I knew McCain was a disaster from the get go. I knew Romney was not the answer either.
except for Obama Care, NO complicity.
Your analysis is too shallow.
not clear to too many around here....
Unfortunately if the GOP does win control of the senate, there is a strong possibility that, instead of acting to undo some of the tremendous damage that has a been done to our citizens, they will spend the entire time trying to crush the conservatives in congress.
This is why some are hesitating, in their support of GOP candidates. It is up to the GOP to reassure the voters that they will do what they say they will do.
They also need to acknowledge and condemn the despicabe tactics that were used in Mississippi. Cochran should wihdraw, or resign if he should win and McDaniel should take his place.
Roberts..... cough..... Oh yeah it really matters if an R or D appoints our black robed tyrants!
I know how Ill vote on election day.
Hey Tet...how you doin brother?
Please remember and never forget...It took DECADES for Reagan to shift the Republican party from within...it was one person at a time...the problem is with a large swath of today’s conservatives they seek instant gratification...an all or nothing approach..a I’m taking my marbles stomping my feet and going home attitude. They aren’t willing to work slowly to accomplish the end strategy but instead salivate and lavish at the thought of democrats taking down the country...see I don’t trust ANYONE that comes back later and said I told you so...in fact I loathe such people. Why you may ask? Because rather than working towards the end state goal they are more committed to failure and work towards that end so they can be right. To that I say...eff em..they aren’t willing to out in the hard work.
What in the world does your inane post have to do with mine? Are you saying that you’re going to morph FreeRepublic into a Republican site?
Over the owner’s dead body, newbie!
Then the Senate blocks radical Obama appointments.
Good grief, you have a thinner skin than Barack.
You're full of crap. EVERY Republican voted against Obamcare. Obamacare is a reality because people like you wouldn't vote for the "establishment" Republicans in enough states and allowed Democrats to have a super majority in the Senate.
Republicans in the Senate WERE stopping radical leftist judges from being nominated onto courts to the point Harry Reid had invoke the nuclear option to get them approved.
If you can't look ahead two years and see the value of a Republican-controlled Senate in the event a conservative gets elected President, you're not very bright.
What we have seen is eight years of your strategy of letting Democrats win elections make things much worse.
What the hell is YOUR strategy? You have none.
I don’t see a third party or viable emerging in this political environment. Either, conservatives will take over the GOP, or we will have a military coup or civil war.
The one thing that will not happen in my lifetime is a dark age totalitarian state. Because in that case, I know that I will be dead or gone.
Then, Democrats control the Senate and are able to thwart whatever agenda a conservative President might be able to pas in 2017. Brilliant!
And you seem incapable of having a friendly conversation without hurling insults - none of which I have sent your way. Have a nice life.
Newbie? Lol nah I covered this quite sometime ago...I was under absolutejustice I’m thinking some 7 to 9 years ago and took a very long time away....I then came back and forgot my login credentials....so ive been around a very long time...my point wasn’t to convert the site it was to opine on what I notice occurring on this site ...mearly obeservation that some conservatives would rather see the takedown of our country then to slowly change the party from within... If that means voting an R to be a means to that end then so be it....still trying to figure out what the newbie reference points to? I graduated newbie status my first full year in The Corps...no one rates to label me that any longer :-)
First, Bush wasn't a conservative. But, he still passed through tax cuts and FAR better judges on the Supreme Court than Kagan and Sotomayer. We also didn't see the Republicans try to pass a government takeover of healthcare.
The Bush years were paradise compared to what has gone on under Obama.
