Here's A Map Of Where The NYC Ebola Patient Went
Business Insider ^ | 10/24/2014 | Dina Spector

Craig Spencer, a 33-year-old doctor, is the first person found to have Ebola in New York City.

Since Spencer was rushed to Manhattan's Bellevue Hospital on Thursday, immediately after showing symptoms, health officials have been retracing his steps and working to identify anyone the patient may have come into contact with since returning to the United States from Guinea on Oct. 17.

As a member of Doctors Without Borders, Spencer had been treating Ebola patients in Guinea, one of the three West African countries hit hardest by the Ebola epidemic.

At a news conference on Thursday night, Mayor Bill de Blasio urged New Yorkers not be alarmed.

Ebola patients cannot spread the virus until they begin showing symptoms. Ebola is transmitted only through contact with an infected person's blood or other bodily fluids, and not through casual contact.

Here's a quick timeline of the events shortly before the time Spencer received his diagnosis, and where he traveled.

Obama can get all the photo-op he wants with Nina Pham. But the FIRST regular NYC resident in the general population, who contracts Ebola because of this doctor, will be the end for Obama.

did he hire a car for the trip from the airport to his apartment?

If he was contagious at that time, his trip from the airport will be the least of our problems. He had just been on two long flights, from Guinea to Brussels and from Brussels to New York.

Bowling alley alone will lose several weeks or months of business. Same with any restaurants. People that work there wont have paychecks; etc.

Good point. It will be interesting to see if anyone such as bowling alley owners, waiters, dry cleaners, etc. who see a marked decline in income due to this man's use of their shops choose to take legal action against him. Look, the CDC's recommendations for PPEs for healthcare workers is woefully inadequate. Lots of people who "understand the disease" still get it. Clearly, this isn't "settled science" here. Seems to me the "foolish" institutions and people acting with an "abundance of caution" are the ones getting it right.

As a non professional observer I think the chances of transmitting the virus in early stages are minimal

I'd be most worried about his girlfriend.

Since October 17….that’s quite a bit of time and the potential for contact with quite a lot of people.

And the potential contacts go up exponentially via everyone he may have had close contact with. Hopefully we won't have cause to point out the fallacies of those who have been telling us how hard it would be for it to get a foothold. Just a half dozen new cases and the costs/danger go up exponentially.

It is not the fact that they are black, that explains why the government is killing them all. It is the fact that they are/were useful idiots who are no longer useful. The Oligarchy has achieved all its short term goals and are about to drop the hammer.

I remember seeing them spraying something in the shoes, but not sure if all places do it, and not sure how effective it would be.

I don’t know either….I hadn’t thought about it until it was brought up. Feet do sweat….

True, but we were told that there were designated ones here in NY. One would have thought that would have included any required meds, but I guess they didn’t agree.

“Ample proof that the government’s “plan” to have people “self quarantine” is asinine, naive and stupid - even with so-called HEALTH PROFESSIONALS!”

“Stop the Damn Flights!”

Amen.

I’m wondering when he was actually contagious. For sure, those 2 trips in planes, then the possibility of future passengers on those planes, then subway riders, restaurant workers and diners, bowling alley patrons, employees, car service drivers…..now that the cat is out of the bag, where to start?

He also spent a few days travelling around Brussels or somewhere over there and no one is talking about that. But, hey, he was only a little bit pregnant, uh, make that Ebola riddled so it doesn’t matter.

Why are we not learning the name of the restaurant(s)? Payoff(s)?
