Dr. Craig Spencer, who returned to New York City from Africa 10 days ago, was rushed in an ambulance with a police escort from his Harlem home to Bellevue Hospital on Thursday, sources said.

He was suffering from Ebola-like symptoms — a 103-degree fever and nausea, sources said.

While he was in Africa, the doctor had been treating Ebola patients in Guinea, sources said.

CPUSA stooges President Hussein Ebola and Mayor Warren Wilhelm Hemorrhagic Fever have REALLY screwed the pooch this time.

You would think SOMEBODY in FEDGOV would be tracking who is coming back into the USA from West Africa, ESPECIALLY DOCTORS WHO HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH EBOLA PATIENTS.

It’s imperative that PARASITE IMBECILES be prevented from voting, because this is the result.

This CHIT is intentional. What doctor would go to a public bowling alley upon returning from treating Ebola-infected patients in West Africa? ONE WHO’S BEEN TOLD TO GO OUT AND MIX WITH THE PUBLIC, THAT’S WHO.

Fox just said he is positive for Ebola. This just became real for the elite

It would be quite the story if Ebola-positive smuggled bushmeat was ever found in the U.S.

So is the incubation period longer than people think.I don’t understand him being here for 10 days and not showing symptoms until now. He caught it right before he left?

The MSF said the span is 41 days from exposure to symptoms. He could have caught the virus up to a week before flying home

I saw a graph that in the first 7-9 days you get the muscle aches etc. But obviously it can take longer

The immune response clears the virus from the periphery, the patient has a clinical recovery, while the viral infection progresses in the [central nervous system] and eventually returns and reemerges as a renewed positivity.

Like shingles from chickenpox, to a certain extent.

That is the minimum time to symptoms. Average is under a week, but it can take more time. The doctor was probably in good health before this

But I doubt you go from NO symptoms whatsoever then jump to 103 temp.

The implications of ‘reinfection’ in someone who has circulating antibodies are scary, and suggest that it might be harder than we think to create a viable vaccine. This is an ‘enveloped’ (membrane coated) virus, as HIV is enveloped, and unless a vaccine is against one of the proteins embedded in the envelope it might not be effective. Making it even more of a problem is that the major viral protein in the envelope is glycosylated (coated with sugar molecules) and this makes it harder to develop antibodies against.

Columbo also wrote: This could be a dumb question and is off-topic....would eating a zero carb diet help against glycosylated vidii?

I was actually thinking the same a few days ago. There is ample evidence that most cancer cells rely on glycolysis and a VLC diet has been shown to be beneficial in cancer reduction (Warburg) as far back as 87 years ago. I do not know and think it would be an interesting area of discussion to determine if interrupting glycolysis would impact the rapid replication of a glycosylated virus such as ebola.

There are so many avenues of research with this and I would wonder if being on a Ketogenic diet imparts some degree of protection from infection. I'm not sure how effective a VLC diet would be after infection because of the rapid replication of the Ebola virus.

When I caught the H1N1 flue a few years back, I went from having a great day hunting to 103 fever in 12 hours. I was in urgent care three hours after symptoms and felt like my lungs were rapped in barbed wire.

It can happen quickly

Why? Do typical New Yorkers carry their dead around and eat bushmeat?

It's New York... you never know.
