Yes, it does look like a lever action. The barrel seems longer though than my 30-30 Winchester saddle rifle of a fairly old vintage. Any lever gun is going to be problematic though for fast reloading so would be surprised if an internal magazine rifle was used.
Al Afrika Ben Lazy !!
I understand our soldiers at Arlington carry guns with no ammo too.
Moments ago CBS News reported, citing Law enforcement and U.S. Government sources, that the shooter in today’s tragic Ottawa incident was Michael Abdul Zehaf Bibeau, born in Canada in 1982. One source says he sometime dropped the name Michael and went by Abdul Zehaf Bibeau. At other times he apparently dropped the Abdul. In a report from the Muslim Issue, Zehaf-Bibeau is said to be reportedly of Algerian descent.
I don’t see the lever either but the hammer sure looks like one. There another type of rifle having an external hammer like that?
Also, he’s holding it like a sissy.
Zehaf is an Algerian name. Likely his mother was a French speaking Algerian who married a French Canadian man. Most Quebecois are agnostic when it comes to religion so he likely decided to follow his mother’s religion as he got older.
Nah, you're mistaken...it was white, Bible thumping, gun clinging Tea Partier [I don't use the rat's homosexual perjorative].
Yep, sitting ducks for a copycat...
Just a suspicion, but I think that'll be changing.
I do not know if they changed the ammo for our border agents in Arizona, when Agent Brian Terry was killed by the drug cartels. They were using beanbags. Literally.
It is a coincidence that a reporter had just finished interviewing the prime minister, who said they were going to change the laws to be able to monitor these known jihadist sympathizers, then the shots rang out in the rotunda where he was near.
Saw this just yesterday from Canadian news network, children being taught to behead people (I assume non-Muslims) in Canadian Islamic school.

We on the southern border have Monthan Air Force base, Ft. Huachuca and the border outposts to be concerned about, that I fear, but pray to God, do not get attacked.
I am not military strategist or analyst, but hitting us fast, in multiple places that are of significant meaning, brazenly, and cleverly, would definitely strike terror into our hearts.
So we should try not to just react, but outwit them. If I were the military and intelligence, I would rout them out in their lairs before their first morning butt salute.
He is a Candian born in 1982, reportedly of Algerian descent.
Well as Rush would say he has now assumed Room Temperature!
I thought Muslims were only pissed off because of the actions of Bush.
Why are they attacking Canada? (An oil rich producing nation I might add.)
We joined in the air-bombing campaign two weeks ago - that’s what prompted this attack. But they hated us before then, as a few attacks have been foiled in the past.

I joke, but I completely agree—that mistake is ridiculous. Anyone with a computer can find out what the RCMP stands for. In fact, their main stables aren’t far from what happened yesterday, IIRC (used to drive by there every day).
‘Isn’t that an Amish name?’

I can’t believe this. Apparently he grew up in a good home and was completely normal, and then a switch went off somehow.
There is something truly evil with this “radicalization” process. Seriously....

LOL! You’re right, TomS., he is (was) nothing more than a sneeze in the grand scheme of things... okay I haven’t had enough sleep. :)

Absolutely.
On CFRA this a.m., they noticed how the hockey teams in CA had a moment of silence; Anaheim, I believe. Both American teams, IIRC (of course, like most teams, they probably had a mixture of American and Canadian players). People appreciate that the U.S. teams took a moment for what was going on up here.
