RUSH: Mark Cuban has got the answer. "Mark Cuban has some advice for the Republican Party: Drop the social issues. 'If I was going to give guidance to the Republican Party, I'd say, 'Stay completely out of social issues.'" He said it on CNBC today. I've been hearing that since 1992.

RUSH: I can't tell you how many years, since 1992, that I have been hearing: "The Republican Party better get rid of the social issues or it doesn't have a prayer." And the theory, here's what Mark Cuban says. "If you stay out of social issues, then the conversation from that side will only be about economics, and business, and growing business, and ideas. It should be easy! The generation of sex, drugs, and rock and roll didn't turn out quite like we planned, right? We thought we'd be like, 'Live free. Stay out of the bedroom. Stay out of everybody's lives. Let's just focus on business.' It turned out to be the exact opposite."
By the way, there are plenty of Republicans that have stopped talking about social issues. They still get hammered with 'em. The Republicans are gonna get hammered no matter what they do. The Republicans are gonna get hammered. Look at the War on Women. There wasn't one. There isn't War on Women, other than the one the Democrats conduct. There is not a War on Women. And yet it exists. And it's not because of anything the Republicans do. It's not because of anything the Republicans have said. It was totally made up out of whole cloth.
You know, giving away ammunition is not the solution to your political problems. Abandoning 24 million voters is not the route to victory. But it's amazing how the smart people keep coming up with the same suggestion.

RUSH: Fairfield, Connecticut. This is Farris. I'm glad you called, sir. Great to have you with us. Hello.
CALLER: I'm glad you took my call, Rush. Thank you so much for keeping our eyes on the balls. The problem is there's so many balls.
RUSH: Yeah, that's true.
CALLER: I use three crystal balls myself and have to decide, you know, between which one has two answers and which one has the single answer. You're the only one, really, who understands the truthfulness of keeping our eyes on these, what you call social issues. I'd like you to call them moral issues. And without morals, we would never, ever had a republic, and we would never have had a Constitution. And that's where we've lost it. And you'd be surprised how many people --
RUSH: Well, that's why a lot of people want to do away with the Constitution, so they can precisely get away from all this judgmentalism they don't like.
CALLER: Yeah, the morality is what's missing, and that is heard loudly by the people that I talk with, and of course the media tends to make most of us think that we're alone in this, but actually this is a winning issue for Republicans. The moral issues are the important ones. Those women who control the mind control in this country want you to think that people are head over heels for homosexual and lesbian marriages, but in fact they're not. And, quite frankly, right now, what you have is a strong push-back, especially in that voting bloc that you refer to so often as the African-American voter. These people understand right from wrong, and there is such an enormous support among my African-American brothers and sisters for traditional marriage. And we've been rolled over. And nobody more than here in the state of Connecticut. We've been rolled over by this freight train --
RUSH: Oh, no, wait. Now, I understand. The Californians have been rolled over twice. They've voted on two different occasions to uphold the morality you're talking about and a judge told them they had no right. Statewide, they have voted two times and had it thrown out.
CALLER: I understand that, but let me explain why you could be mistaken about that, and you might agree with me that we in, Connecticut, were railroaded in a worse fashion. In other words, when this movement started, the first state that was selected by Mary Bonauto, who is president of the GLAD, the Gay & Lesbian Advocates and Defenders, the first state was selected was the weakest state in the country, which is Massachusetts. And she could see in that Supreme Court, 'cause she knows and she knew that no electorate or no legislature would ever vote for homosexual and lesbian marriages. So she went to that Supreme Court, which is populated by seven people who have a special name in Massachusetts. It's called the Supreme Judicial Court of the commonwealth of Massachusetts.
RUSH: I have to step in here. I've got time constraints that I've gotta step in on you here, Farris, but that's exactly right. The Massachusetts court -- he is exactly right about the strategy there. But I don't want to get into an argument over who's had the biggest battle. The people of California, Prop 187, that was thrown out. The people of California, Proposition 8, that was thrown out, after they voted for it. And then people that supported it lost their jobs, even after a majority of people voted for it.
But it's not a battle of which people in which state have taken the biggest hit. Your point here, the social issues, when people stand up and say Republicans should stop bringing 'em up, they're talking about one thing. They're talking about abortion. That's all they're talking about. And they couch that as social issues. Like I say, I've been hearing this since 1992. It doesn't matter what the Republicans do. They're gonna be accused of all this stuff whether they say it, do it, or not. The solution is to not shut up about this.

See, you can have money and still be a complete buffoon.
Typical oy very what culture war crap...
I am not saying for candidates to run from social issues. They can say what they believe, but the party should say our #1 goal is to get spending under control, eliminate unnecessary regulations, reduce taxes, get rid of Obamacare (unnecessary regulations), and thus create jobs.
Reduce federal power and give that power back to the states and local governments.
I agree 100 percent with you
STFU Mark
I agree with you. It’s called “picking your battles”. If candidates would only stick with the fundamental principles of Conservatism: smaller government, lower taxes, a strong national defense, and individual freedom — get elected — and then follow the same moral compass on social issues, we will be well served.
You should continue to do what you think is best. I don’t see society getting any better in this life time.
At the point that the current economy collapses from over regulation, taxation and government debt, we will descend into a horrible civil and international war.
If folks would spend as much energy with in their own religious organizations instead of hoping a politician will fix the nation’s social ills, then possibly some of it can be reversed on it’s own. I firmly believe God answers prayers and perhaps it’s our over instenance on relying on man to fix the hearts and minds of those who sin is why we see the mess we are in today.
Exactly, what Cuban is proposing is to essentially tell millions of Americans that their views don’t matter. Yeah that’s a real winning strategy. /s
But those ARE 'social issues'! Welfare spending, EBT cards used in casinos, Obamaphones, private property rights against spotted owl rights, the list is endless....................
Mark Cuban? Really?
LMAO
That's because, in the social and business circles they circulate in, degeneracy is so generalized and pervasive that they're surrounded by perverts and psychopaths. They can't say anything .... and they've got enough money that they can afford not to care. Plus, they'd better not care, or someone in a back room somewhere will show them why.
Very well stated.
You won't be able to do that without a radical restructuring of the culture and social structure.
Pretty sure Cuban just described the Libertarian Party.
Haven’t noticed them winning many elections recently though.
He glosses over social issues. Economics, business, ideas are born from "social issues".
Speak the truth and "both" parties will destroy you. The "true believers" from both sides are the same. "People will change their hearts and see the truth of what I say if I MAKE them."
If our society is sick, passing a federal law that forces them to pretend they've changed their hearts won't do anything but waste time and money. If these true believers are right, how about they work to change the hearts of people instead of trying to use the force of the federal government to make the rest of society pretend to change?
