SoConPubbie, Mr. Jeeves restates what I am trying to say. We really have to get the excess out of Washington, if we are going to regain control of society. If there are some corrupt and wicked states, but a lot of really good states that we can relocate to, that is a better option than having the whole nation be corrupt and wicked.
Sorry, but we just witnessed the Federal Judiciary make a mockery of the concept of States Rights.
Furthermore, as a Christian, I have a moral duty to keep fighting against Abortion and the Gay Agenda in every way I can, and that includes the political arena.
What you are advocating for is nothing but implied surrender and you will never achieve what you are proposing using that strategy.
It is akin to the cowardly approach taken by Rand Paul about not doing anything about Abortion, because half of the country is for it or some such balderdash, and walking away from the fight on Gay Marriage and proclaiming it's a States Rights issue knowing full well that the Federal Judiciary will and has taken the opposite position.

I am not saying for candidates to run from social issues. They can say what they believe, but the party should say our #1 goal is to get spending under control, eliminate unnecessary regulations, reduce taxes, get rid of Obamacare (unnecessary regulations), and thus create jobs.
Reduce federal power and give that power back to the states and local governments.

I agree with you. It’s called “picking your battles”. If candidates would only stick with the fundamental principles of Conservatism: smaller government, lower taxes, a strong national defense, and individual freedom — get elected — and then follow the same moral compass on social issues, we will be well served.

You should continue to do what you think is best. I don’t see society getting any better in this life time.
At the point that the current economy collapses from over regulation, taxation and government debt, we will descend into a horrible civil and international war.

Your approach will not succeed either as millions of Christians walk away from active participation in the GOP. The GOP will never be able to replace those voters and will become the perpetual minority party unable to affect the very strategy you propose.
Furthermore, this approach will not attract anywhere enough of the Libertarian and disaffected Independents needed to replace the missing conservative voters.

If folks would spend as much energy with in their own religious organizations instead of hoping a politician will fix the nation’s social ills, then possibly some of it can be reversed on it’s own. I firmly believe God answers prayers and perhaps it’s our over instenance on relying on man to fix the hearts and minds of those who sin is why we see the mess we are in today.

Exactly, what Cuban is proposing is to essentially tell millions of Americans that their views don’t matter. Yeah that’s a real winning strategy. /s

but the party should say our #1 goal is to get spending under control, eliminate unnecessary regulations, reduce taxes, get rid of Obamacare (unnecessary regulations), and thus create jobs. But those ARE 'social issues'! Welfare spending, EBT cards used in casinos, Obamaphones, private property rights against spotted owl rights, the list is endless....................

By the way, there are plenty of Republicans that have stopped talking about social issues. That's because, in the social and business circles they circulate in, degeneracy is so generalized and pervasive that they're surrounded by perverts and psychopaths. They can't say anything .... and they've got enough money that they can afford not to care. Plus, they'd better not care, or someone in a back room somewhere will show them why.

Reduce federal power and give that power back to the states and local governments. You won't be able to do that without a radical restructuring of the culture and social structure.

Pretty sure Cuban just described the Libertarian Party.
Haven’t noticed them winning many elections recently though.

...out of social issues, then the conversation from that side will only be about economics, and business, and growing business, and ideas. He glosses over social issues. Economics, business, ideas are born from "social issues".

Leave social issues to mostly local governments and people, and focus on reducing the power and waste of the federal monster.
Speak the truth and "both" parties will destroy you. The "true believers" from both sides are the same. "People will change their hearts and see the truth of what I say if I MAKE them."
If our society is sick, passing a federal law that forces them to pretend they've changed their hearts won't do anything but waste time and money. If these true believers are right, how about they work to change the hearts of people instead of trying to use the force of the federal government to make the rest of society pretend to change?
