A Florida father had to use deadly force to defend himself and his 11 year old son from an early morning home invader this week.
Just before 6:00am, Chris Bane heard glass breaking inside of his Sarasota home. He armed himself and went to investigate.
According to My Fox Tampa Bay,
“The burglar fired a shot and the homeowner returned fire, striking and killing the intruder,” said Wendy Rose, a spokesperson for the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. “Apparently the homeowner has been the victim of burglary recently so he was on alert, he was on edge, and as soon as he heard glass breaking he armed himself to protect himself and his 11-year-old child who was in the home.”
Rose said Bane’s home had been broken into as recently as Sunday, but deputies aren’t sure if Yoder was involved.
Yoder, 22, has had several run-ins with the law; he’d been arrested at least five times and spent several months in prison.
The homeowner is understandably shaken up. He posted a long message to his Facebook profile about the shooting saying that he did what he had to do and was “not a bad dude”. He is not currently facing charges as the shooting certainly appears to be self defense.
This is the 121st defensive gun use we’ve documented in the state Florida and the 1,324th defensive gun use we’ve documented overall.
But he said he’s a good guy .......???

I read the quote from Bane’s FB post with some disgust.
That is the worst English written by an adult it has ever been my experience to read.
If I didn’t know better I would have assumed it was satire of Southern Black English. But it is real. The guy is simply writing phonetically how he speaks.
It is sad. What hope is there for this man?
Did you notice it said the guy was just burglarized so he was on high alert.
There have been a string of robberies here in my area--over 20 in a few days.

Honestly, though, you might live in one of the last bastions to fall, but it will hit there too. They've spread garbage like this far and wide. From rural North Carolina, to Iowa farm towns to, now, reports of the cartels moving their people into N. Dakota to get a piece of the energy money by getting the guys working up there hooked on heavy drugs--they've spread the vermin far and wide and like an aggressive cancer it's growing exponentially.
I’ve been saying what you wrote for quite some time. It falls on deaf ears. Rural folks think that they will be insulated from ghetto/barrio/gay-love/communist progressive forces.
Not happening. No place to run or hide or raise a family anymore because the cancer is everywhere now. And supposed good men won’t stop it because they are “law abiding, Christian and civil”.
I am talking po dunk Colorado. 30 minute drive to go somewhere to get milk. We drive past the elementary school to get to our place. At least twice a year the sign in front of the school has a notice for a parent's meeting for crystal meth informational night.
The scourge is everywhere.
