I live in this district. It would be a marked change for the better to have Baker elected. We’ve been a RAT district since Bill Baker, the last Republican left office.
I have a very good friend, Democrat, who lives in the SF area. She laments the state of California, saying it has been very badly managed. She never says the managers are all Democrats or that she voted for those who are destroying that beautiful state.
Politics used to be about selecting the best person for a job. The best person for the job was the person who would get the most effective and efficient use out of the taxpayer’s hard-earned dollar. Do you see any Democrat running on that issue?
Brown has done a good job. He just vetoed another Dem sponsored bill because the bill did not identify funding sources. The state deficit was $26 billion with seemingly no way politically to fix it.
CA Assembly 16, sounds like a winnable district, the author of this piece was foolish to support the more moderate of 2 rats in the primary, rather than the Republican, the CA state legislature desperately needs fewer democrats. There is no room for non-extremists in the rat party.
Under the old lines the current incumbent (term limited) won narrowly in 2008 and 2010 before winning by 18 points in 2012 under the current lines, I don’t know if redistricting was a prime factor in that increase.
