The People Cry out for a Czar but Obama Gives Them a Commissar.
vanity ^ | October 19, 2014 | Nathan Bedford

Posted on 10/19/2014 1:45:50 AM PDT by nathanbedford

The people sense that the federal Leviathan is so ponderous that it cannot cope with a potentially existential health threat. They commonly think that the problem is that the government is so big and multi-tentacled that it cannot communicate, it cannot coordinate, it cannot cope.

They are right about the size being a problem but size is not the root problem, it is a symptom. The gross federal Leviathan on is a symptom of an ideology that is all wrong. So long as that ideology could be described as "liberalism" the miraculous tool powers of our free enterprise system and our constitutional federal system could cope with the creeping intrusions of government. For many years after the war we were as a nation profitable enough to squander much of our profits. But the line has been crossed, the government is now thoroughly out of control and as a consequence the country is spinning out of control and the people recognize it.

So the people ask for a Czar to take charge, organize and bring coherence to the government's actions because Ebola threatens their lives and it is obvious that the government is stepping all over itself and committing life-threatening mistake after life-threatening mistake. Our media tells us that the right man can pull it all together and maybe that is true for short time for a particular problem such as a regional disaster like a hurricane or even a potential pestilence. But Obama has not given us a man of required caliber, instead he is given us a hack, not a field general but a commissar designed to spy on and control real generals in the field.

Joe Stalin sent his commissars out to terrorize Soviet soldiers fighting the Nazis on the Eastern front so that the war was fought utterly ruthlessly for the salvation of Bolshevism, no matter the human cost. It was the commissars who forced the suicide attacks, who ran punishment battalions over mine fields, who set up machine guns to murder retreating Soviet soldiers. The commissars were there to enforce communist ideology and to make sure that the Kremlin's orders concerning how the war would be fought were obeyed without the slightest deviation. They were constantly on guard for ideological deviancy and terrorized the Soviet army into top down obedience in thought as well as deed.

Ron Klain, the presidents appointee, is grotesquely unqualified for his position because he is possessed of no public health experience or expertise whatsoever. Rather he has been styled by the Obama media as a "strategist." One of his strategies was the Gore campaign to overturn George Bush's election victory. His entire career has been to serve as a loyal factotum to Democrat power brokers. Like Obama, he has never managed, successfully or otherwise, any serious undertaking except elections. We need a man of expertise, experience, and integrity and Ron Klain is singularly lacking in all of these character traits.

Like Stalin, Obama sacrifices competence for ideological purity. Obama places American lives at risk in the service of his Marxist ideology.

Gentlemen:

My apologies for the typos which were not corrected by proofreading which, contrary to the evidence, was actually done.

I posted about this lapse before which I believe comes from using Dragon NaturallySpeaking software which sometimes simply gets the dictation wrong. Sometimes an open mic can cause a problem. But the real problem is databoss suggests is the failure of effective proofreading. I've had discussions on other threads with editors and I think it has to do with the tricks our brains play on us when we read what we have written or think we have written or, in my case, have dictated. We think we are reading what we expect to read and so our proofreading fails. [As an example, the last sentence came out, "so are proofreading fails." But that mistake at least was caught in proofreading.]

To cope I have tried reading from the bottom up and otherwise out of order with some limited success.

Thanks for the corrections.

The press has been very successful at ignoring the enterovirus coming into the country. It’s far more difficult to hide Ebola. Obama will find it difficult even within his own party to execute an executive order for allowing more illegals into the country with people saying to close the border. Klein’s job is to put the best political spin on it so Obama can have his executive order-no matter how many have to die.

In a way I think it is the unspecified, amorphous nature of the position which vests power.

I think your entire premise is wrong. Americans don't want a so-called czar, they want their Constitutional cabinet officers to actually do their specified jobs, and do them well.

The only reason for an unconstitutional czar is to bypass Senate advice and consent.

Like Stalin, Obama sacrifices competence for ideological purity.

Leon Trotsky axiom "The end justifies the means" drives the ideological purity of the Obama progressive administration...so whatever the costs to the country is immaterial...as long as their agenda is pushed froward...

In almost ever instance where Obama makes an appointment or presents a nominee for approval, personal loyalty and ideologue triumphs even a semblance of competence...

I would not doubt in making his picks he asks for a personal loyalty pledge as a condition for consideration...

Nathan Bedford: I enjoy reading your posts more than any others here on FR. Sometimes for many posters, mistakes are made with spelling, punctuation, grammar, etc. In the long run, I see it as no big deal. Given the volumes of magnificant posts you’ve shared on FR, so what if one or two aren’t stated just perfectly right! I knew what you meant by this one, and so should have databoss without having to get snarky about it!

Did you notice the undetected typo in that post ("is" for "as") in the third sentence?

I confess, I'm incorrigible.

Thanks for the very kind words.

Obama utterly failed in his most basic responsibility, to keep America safe. He is the Chief Executive in charge. Ebola was a known threat. His policies allowed it to come to the US. Obama cannot hide behind congress, or behind some bureaucrat. Obama owns this miserable failure. May his soul burn in hell.

I’m afraid the people are no longer content with the rule of judges - they want a king.

There is nothing new under the sun.

In 1640 Charles I of England was found complicit in a Scottish invasion of England.

For this, Charles was beheaded.

Now don’t get me wrong. I do not equate Charles’ crime with the invasion across our southern border. Not at all.

I had no problem with it. Yes the ‘on’ was not edited out. BFD. If you had any contribution 1/100 that of Nathan Bedford here at FR then maybe you could have standing. Go suck on another lemon.

“But, as a meeting coordinator....he’s five-star”

Yep, and even MORE meetings with even LESS action resulting from all of the meetings gives the impression that things are happening when in fact nothing is happening but meetings.

The big benefit of course is that no actual decisions have to made and no action need be taken. Action, of course, is dangerous because it might not be the best action, and thus exposes the decision maker to criticism. Best to simply make no decisions and take no action, which reduces the chances for criticism. Been there and done that (or at least had it done to me). Meanwhile Rome is being burned down by Ebola.

Commisar is the right word. See the history of the soviet union. Czar is not the right word, but was chosen to obfuscate and confuse a brain-dead public.

If you want to see commissars you ought to see what is going on in the military. It is all about politics and destruction of traditional values and processes.

Please call congress and tell them that we must be deadly serious about containing Ebola by strict quarantine within the United States and from infected nations. This is our right and our duty and it is THEIR duty to protect US.

Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121 or Google your congressman or senator and get his contact information and call him / her office directly. You can also call or go to their local offices.

I believe decisive response is urgent because you can’t put this Ebola genie back in the bottle once it gets out. It is a fire, it consumes all the fuel it can get and the fuel is people. The only way to stop a fire is to block it from the fuel or cool it with water. A vaccine or medicine to treat Ebola would be the water and we don’t have reliable, enough or any.

Every possible measure must be taken to stop the spread before draconian measures are imposed. What is being done now is sloppy. We are walking a dangerous road. The threat is blossoming by the day if not hour. Almost every hour there is some new Ebola development and none of them are good. This is a serious and potentially deadly event. Unchecked it could destroy or weaken the United States and facilitate our destruction by others. It has that potential for every country and that is why so many are responding with such strict quarantines. These consequences, no matter how small the probabilities, demand a full effort and significant response.

Ebola is being spread here in the United States right now. First Texas, then Ohio then? Terror is an excellent weapon. It disrupts, confuses, paralyzes and destroys a society. Many others and we on FR have speculated that terrorists may spread Ebola. How do you that remember 9/11 feel right now compared to what you felt then? Do you want to gather your loved ones near you to protect them? I do. Even more than I did on September 11, 2001! Isn’t this passive response by this administration accomplishing the very same things a terrorist would want?
When something is being done that makes as little sense as what Obama is doing there has to be some other reason. I leave it to you dear reader to draw your own conclusions as to the reasons.
What is happening now is insane. It makes no sense at all. For example the head of CDC says: “Stopping travel from Africa won’t do any good because you have to get people into Africa to fight Ebola.” “You can’t get Ebola from an infected person on a bus but an infected person should never be on a bus because he can infect others.” “Blocking travel from infected countries would damage their fragile economies.” What about ours? What about our safety? What about resources we have paid for that should be protecting us?

Even the most despotic dictatorship in Africa has acted to protect his nation by strict quarantine and stopping travel from infected countries. Even CDC, the UN and WHO advocate and credit strict quarantine for nipping the spread of Ebola in the bud at the source in places like Senegal and Nigeria where both have had faster and more successful outbreak controls than we have had here. 35 countries have stopped travel of people from infected West African countries. It is so obvious even a child could understand it so why is it OK for people from infected countries to travel here?
I will post this message and keep posting it until someone stops me.

The best of times.
That “M” actually stood for music in MTV.

On the upside, this got rid of the infernal earworm caused by someone I saw on the way to a Halloween party last night, who had named their jeep “Black Betty”.
