Ebola-stricken nurse Nina Pham's condition was downgraded to fair on Friday, according to doctors at the National Institutes of Health.
The 26-year-old nurse, who contracted Ebola while caring for Thomas Duncan at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, was previously described as being in a good condition on Thursday.
According to the American Hospital Association's scale used to describe a patient's health, a 'fair condition' is listed as worse than a 'good condition'.
Dr Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said at a briefing outside the Maryland hospital on Friday that Miss Pham was in a 'fair, stable condition and resting comfortably'.
He did not describe further details of her condition due to patient confidentiality but said she still had Ebola symptoms.
Dr Fauci denied that Miss Pham was deteriorating adding that she is sitting up, talking with staff and eating.
Miss Pham, 26, broke down in tears on Thursday night when saying goodbye to her doctors in Dallas
Dr Fauci added that the nurse is getting 'optimum, intensive care' but said she is extremely fatigued because Ebola 'knocks you out'.
The doctor described the nurse as 'a trooper' adding that she was being cared for round-the-clock by a specialized team of doctors and nurses.

She has become America’s sweetheart. Poor thing, you know that trip had to be exhausting for her. I know I’m joined by a boatload of people praying for her and her family for her complete recovery.
I looked at those a bit a couple months ago when the Dr. came back from Africa.
Whole different ballgame
Nina looked good in the video, but maybe because of the trip(I still dont understand why she had the leave, she really didnt want to go) it took a lot out of her, she did walk to the plane, and with Ebola it already takes a lot out of you its like triple for her. I just want to give Nina a big hug, she is so brave and she has handled this with such dignity and grace I could NEVER respond as well as she did
Also, the Dallas hospital is open for business. It is a “for profit” business.
The place she went to is fully equipped and patients there are paid for by taxpayers. They did say she would not have to pay.
This isn’t about protecting the public, it is about protecting Obama and his little fiefdom.
I’ve got a feeling the next “stimulus” Shyster Klain will be handing out is going to be for the “global warming” crowd. They are finally about ready to clean up. If you’re a taxpayer, watch your wallet.
That video of her kinda blurred by computer sceen too. Same with the pictures of her dog
Prayers for her.
I would like to see the lab reports to see if she even has Ebola.
It seems as if it would be best to treat an Ebola patient at the receiving medical facility rather than create another potential round of exposures due to removal to a presumably better facility, unless it’s just wholly not up to the task.
It was inevitable that that trip was going to zap her energy and she needed every ounce. Prayers.
Fauci is as bad as Frieden. Doesn’t want to ban travel. But compared to Klain, I’m already missing them both.
Fauci took her to fair to get credit when she gets to good.
Prayers up for Nurse Nina. I’m wondering why she didn’t go to Emory.
I missed the video...was there a thread posted? Thanks.
You answered your own question.
CDC blew all the money allocated for Ebola equipment and training. They spent it on stupid grants for stupid studies by their buddies, billions on pimping Commie Care and the rest on bonuses for “above average performance”.
Just like Slick Willy and Benghazi Clinton treat the Clinton foundation as a slush fund, the NIH, Surgeon General, CDC and HHS treat the 29 billion they receive yearly as their own personal slush fund.
Please call congress and tell them that we must be deadly serious about containing Ebola by strict quarantine within the United States and from infected nations. This is our right and our duty and it is THEIR duty to protect US.
Capitol switchboard is 202-224-3121 or Google your congressman or senator and get his contact information and call him / her office directly. You can also call or go to their local offices.
I believe decisive response is urgent because you cant put this Ebola genie back in the bottle once it gets out. It is a fire, it consumes all the fuel it can get and the fuel is people. The only way to stop a fire is to block it from the fuel or cool it with water. A vaccine or medicine to treat Ebola would be the water and we dont have reliable, enough or any.
Every possible measure must be taken to stop the spread before draconian measures are imposed. What is being done now is sloppy. We are walking a dangerous road. The threat is blossoming by the day if not hour. Almost every hour there is some new Ebola development and none of them are good. This is a serious and potentially deadly event. Unchecked it could destroy or weaken the United States and facilitate our destruction by others. It has that potential for every country and that is why so many are responding with such strict quarantines. These consequences, no matter how small the probabilities, demand a full effort and significant response.
Ebola is being spread here in the United States right now. First Texas, then Ohio then? Terror is an excellent weapon. It disrupts, confuses, paralyzes and destroys a society. Many others and we on FR have speculated that terrorists may spread Ebola. How do you that remember 9/11 feel right now compared to what you felt then? Do you want to gather your loved ones near you to protect them? I do. Even more than I did on September 11, 2001! Isnt this passive response by this administration accomplishing the very same things a terrorist would want?
When something is being done that makes as little sense as what Obama is doing there has to be some other reason. I leave it to you dear reader to draw your own conclusions as to the reasons.
What is happening now is insane. It makes no sense at all. For example the head of CDC says: Stopping travel from Africa wont do any good because you have to get people into Africa to fight Ebola. You cant get Ebola from an infected person on a bus but an infected person should never be on a bus because he can infect others. Blocking travel from infected countries would damage their fragile economies. What about ours? What about our safety? What about resources we have paid for that should be protecting us?
Even the most despotic dictatorship in Africa has acted to protect his nation by strict quarantine and stopping travel from infected countries. Even CDC, the UN and WHO advocate and credit strict quarantine for nipping the spread of Ebola in the bud at the source in places like Senegal and Nigeria where both have had faster and more successful outbreak controls than we have had here. 35 countries have stopped travel of people from infected West African countries. It is so obvious even a child could understand it so why is it OK for people from infected countries to travel here?
I will post this message and keep posting it until someone stops me.

I think about how cruddy I feel with a severe sinus infection...can’t imagine traveling, especially with something as horrific as Ebola. Plus, they moved her from an environment with people she knew and cared about her to a Fed facility with strangers. You are right, I wouldn’t be that dignified or graceful, more like kicking and screaming. lol.
It was reported that it was a staffing issue at Presby, but from what I read today there was a “suspected” case admitted to Baylor...and transferred to Presby. Go figure.
So true. She really IS America’s Sweetheart. Bless her.
It is ALL obola’s fault. Every single bit of what has, is and will happen.
Obola is a muslim terrorist just every bit as much as Osama bin Laden but he has more power.
I feel terror about what is going on. I also feel powerless to stop it.
That is terror and what terrorists do.
How do you feel?
