A University of Texas professor said Friday that she was "disgusted" on an American Airlines flight as the crew, fearing the spread of Ebola, kept a woman who had vomited shut in the plane's bathroom.
"I was outraged by what I saw," said Martha Selby, who is the head of the Austin university's Asian Studies Department.
Selby was on Flight 2325 Thursday evening from Dallas-Fort Worth to Chicago as she made her way to an academic conference.
"She was making her way to the bathroom and vomited in the aisle," Selby recalled. "The flight attendants, I think, over-reacted completely. It was just crazy."

Selby said she understands health concerns, but believes the incident amounted to racial profiling - the woman was black - and a violation of the woman's civil rights.
"If I had puked on the plane, would they have they done that to me? I'm a 60-year-old white woman with gray hair. No, they would not have," she said, noting that fellow passengers shared her concerns about race playing a role in the incident.......

“...a woman who had vomited shut ...”
Last thing I would want to do is vomit shut.
From the first season of, ‘24’, we all know that it is possible to, ‘open’, a cabin door in-flight...
So “other people showed concern over race.” If that poor woman had indeed had Ebola, but was not secured, the ONLY RACE would have been to the lawyers suing the airline for being negligent in safeguarding their passengers.
That’s the “RACE” so much of today’s “RACE” talk leads to.
From all these reports, it seems quite apparent that one of the symptoms of Ebola is an irresistable urge to travel...
I am surprised that no one is talking about the fact that Ebola can be spread by sex.

It's called "second hand outrage", or "offended in the second degree". It's all the rage with the truly diverse and wise. She's entitled to a payout.
Typical lefty...makes the story about her. What’s up with all the people vomiting on planes? That’s what I want to know.
“Geraldo on Fox & Friends claimed that Duncan was mistreated on his first ER trip because he was black and poor.”
Of course he did-—that’s the Geraldo schtick.
.
Sure the heck seems like it! (So I'm not alone in thinking that)
Geraldo is stupid because he is Hispanic. /s
They had the fish...
Except I probably wouldn't be getting on a commercial flight leaving TX at this time, for fear of being swept up in a quarantine.
Maybe this professor from UofT should talk to that other UofT professor Eric R. Pianka.
Or maybe he did, and resented that a woman possibly with Ebola could not spread it throughout the aircraft.
Those modern launches are pretty nice. I'd rather be on that than stuck quarantined on a cruise ship with thousands of people.

She's an 0bola poster child.
Why does a black woman head the Asian Studies dept?
Isn’t that racist?
Not much in the way of food on a launch.
A few people on a launch would be much more likely to get the food and supplies they need delivered to them than would the thousands stuck on the ship.
... and if you actually were ill with Ebola, what then?
:-)
