Medics responded to the Pentagon this morning for a report of a woman on a tour bus who was sick and vomiting. When they learned that she had recently arrived from Africa, the hazmat team was called out of “a complete abundance of caution,” Pentagon Force Protection Agency spokesman Chris Layman told ARLnow.com.
A large portion of the Pentagon south parking lot has been cordoned off with crime tape, and police are telling those who don’t work at the Pentagon to avoid the immediate surrounding area.
The woman has been transported via ambulance to Virginia Hospital Center. The county’s medical director also responded to the call and is at the hospital with the patient, according to scanner traffic. ...more at link...
Here are the questions I would be asking, if anyone wanted to actually think about this:
How often do people puke on the bus, in the Pentagon or in the parking lot?
How closely do they screen people on the tours? Never having been on a tour in the Pentagon, I would assume they go no where “secret” or the least bit interesting in terms of a good terrorist target.
How many people from “Africa” come to the Pentagon every day?
Africa is a pretty big place. That is like having someone from Boston puke in Berlin, and have the Germans get all worked up.
I hope Perry has a Secession Order ready to send to zero if he implements martial law.

You know, God did give us eyes and ears to see and hear, and a brain to analyze all of the information gathered by the eyes and ears. Oh, and legs with which to run the Hell away from things that can kill or hurt you.
God gave us all of those gifts so that we can use them. Sitting around doing nothing but praying isn't the way to get God to miracle your hindquarters out of a problem - particularly if you could have easily avoided it in the first place by using your common sense. We have an obligation to do everything humanly possible. Only when we have done that, and the requisite praying and being a good & decent person, do we have the right to even ASK for a miracle - which God will grant or not, as He sees fit.
Sorry to be so harsh, but I truly believe that God helps those that help themselves. I'm a bit tired of people thinking that prayer - ALONE - solves problems. We have a role to play in our own destiny - perhaps not the only or even the deciding role, but a role nonetheless.
That makes me think of the old joke about the meaning of MARTA and gives a whole new meaning to BART.

I called my senator and congressman about it this morning. They blew me off. Nobody is taking this seriously except Ted Cruz.
Oh I agree. Thats why I said we are on our own down here. and that means doing what it takes to deal with it.

I bet if I did it, especially if I advertised for someone fitting the current Ebola profile, I'd be prosecuted for disturbing the peace, or false alarm, or creating a public panic, or somesuch. And, there'd be some justification for that.
But, on the other hand, it would make the point quite dramatically. And it's just as much free speech as those demonstrations where someone tosses around pigs' blood, or self immolates, or burns an American flag while parading the Mexican one, which the power that be leave alone
It was a shuttle to the Marine Corps change of command ceremony and there were Marines on the bus who have been released to self monitor. chuckie hagel was at the ceremony.
