A just-concluded press conference in Dallas, featuring grim-faced officials, revealed that the anonymous worker at the hospital who came down with Ebola followed all CDC procedures, including the use of an isolation suit. Nonetheless, we were told not to worry. Yeah, right. Are they trying to convince people that we are being lied to? When they as good as admit they dont know how to prevent infections, then telling us to be confident in their medical response accomplishes just the opposite: it spreads panic. Meanwhile, we are lectured to trust them and to keep allowing people form the plague region into the United States because their oh-so-effective measures will catch people who have a 21 day incubation period. This is just amazing. Why would anyone believe people who in effect say, We dont know how to prevent transmission of the disease, but trust us, and dont worry.

And just how many are “diversity” hires? Hired/promoted on the basis of what they look like versus the most competent available?
Maybe the protocol is insufficient. It sure as heck isn’t even near what was used for Dr. Brantly. Also a far cry from what is used in a Research lab for a Level 4 substance.
Candy Crowley is stating that adding to the protocol could be more harmful. She is using a poor example to illustrate this. She said that the protocol is to use 2 gloves, and using 3 or 4 gloves could actually be harmful.
This ignores that Level 4 protocol used 3 gloves, and the nurse who improvised with trash bags, used 4 gloves.
Send all of the new ebola patients to DC hospitals......see how long the flights from west africa continue.
I guess this explains why we’re not hearing anything on that bitch judge in Corpus striking down VoterID.... our side has bigger fish to fry.
Is this all over the news in Dallas? I’m down IH-35 in Austin, well, out West in the hills, surprised no cases have popped up here.
Some congress folks went to Liberia right before the outbreak started. If one of them comes down with ebola watch the recommended response change.
Last Friday, the last day for which a schedule was published, our always-busy pres__ent did this:
1:40 PM The President attends a DNC event (Fundraiser-Los Angeles)
3:40 PM The President delivers remarks at Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park (”Official business”-San Dimas, CA)
10:05 PM The President delivers remarks at a DNC event (Fundraiser-San Francisco)
quarantine ??
Has that word actually been used in any official release?
DALLAS is a HOT ZONE.
Earlier stage of the disease has less virus. If nobody touched his saliva, if he washed his hands after the bathroom, if they disinfected enough (Jallah did that) then they got lucky. OTOH, the nurses have to clean fluids off the patient, empty the bed pan, etc. Pretty soon your protective garb is covered and you are at risk no matter how carefully you take it off. In the research facilities they 1/2 hour of showering and decontamination and it is doubtful they did that in this hospital.
No. I like to use quotations if the word is official. I just read they’re not taking patients. It didn’t say “new” patients. I assume that means it’s shut down.
Direct result of this administrations letting infected people fly into US, refusing to stop air travel ..... Obola
“The hospital isnt accepting new ER patients because there isnt enough staff available to do so.”
Mass call-offs?
Yes, I think so.
The HCWs are catching it from the protective gear. It gets heavily contaminated, it keeps the virus warm, it raises the worker's skin temperature and they sweat, and the ID50 is incredibly low.
I'm more convinced than ever that transmission through the air is uncommon, that contact is the main route, and that the nature of nurses' and doctors' work PLUS the PPE gear creates a perfect situation for transmission.
So is most of Liberia, etc. But the way they deal with it is to go in and try to isolate infected people within the zone. In Dallas there are a handful of infected people, they have to go in and find them with contact tracing.
I think Ronald Reagan said it best when he once said “The worst words you could ever hear are these..We are the Government and we are here to help” If the quote is not 100 percent accurate please fix it for me but its as close as I remember it to be..the CDC has already said they are expecting more cases in the coming days..we are SO screwed..meanwhile Obama is golfing today, he is enjoying every minute of this
The family members lived for days in a contaminated environment. They'd have to be damn lucky. Unbelievably lucky.
Hope your hypothesis is correct.
His racist family members who go on TV and talk about how America sucks already knew Duncan had Ebola when he got here, there is no other explanation..they had already protected themselves from this disease. It is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE for someone to live in the same house, use the same toilet, sleep in the same bed as someone who had Ebola and not get it, yet a nurse who followed every single procedure ends up getting it
I agree with your conclusion. Part of the “problem” is, “only” several thousand have been infected with this in 30+ years. They can’t know much about it, yet they act like they do. Compare how what they say with what they do - NIH and CDC & Fort Detrick etc would dress much differently than they are telling ordinary HCW to dress. They are lying.
How do you get out of a hazmat suit without being exposed to what is on the outside?
For 3 or 4 years now, because of a family member with low immune system protection, we have used a plastic glove when pumping gas. No flu, colds, etc., so far.
