A just-concluded press conference in Dallas, featuring grim-faced officials, revealed that the anonymous worker at the hospital who came down with Ebola followed all CDC procedures, including the use of an isolation suit. Nonetheless, we were told not to worry. Yeah, right. Are they trying to convince people that we are being lied to? When they as good as admit they dont know how to prevent infections, then telling us to be confident in their medical response accomplishes just the opposite: it spreads panic. Meanwhile, we are lectured to trust them and to keep allowing people form the plague region into the United States because their oh-so-effective measures will catch people who have a 21 day incubation period. This is just amazing. Why would anyone believe people who in effect say, We dont know how to prevent transmission of the disease, but trust us, and dont worry.

An epidemiologist on another comment board, said that the masks that the CDC uses are inadequate to screen the a virus as small as the Ebola virus.
I used to be a dental hygienist and I had an epidemiologist for a patient back when AIDS was first being recognized, who told me the same thing about the latex gloves that we were wearing, the AIDs virus could pass right through them. He said it was unlikely, but possible, condoms, the same thing. It was about reducing the odds, not 100% prevention.
Healthcare workers deserve 100% prevention.
Yep, many questions.
The protocol was breached,, LOL. Wanna buy a bridge?
“splain to me why this non-airborne, body fluid only, hard to spread disease requires a NASA spacesuit like its the adromeda strain?
From what I’ve read about Ebola, it doesn’t care about no stinkin’ protocol.
CDC is saying there was a breach in protocol. But they aren't saying what that breach was.
Fortunately ebola is so hard to get that nobody has ever caught it. So don't worry. /s
New CDC Spokesman.
DC Director = CDC Director
I think this will make people rally around Obama. They’ll feel sorry for him. They’re idiots but....
That hospital is not accepting any ER patients. Apparently they’ve quarantined the ER.
I wish someone would threaten to sue any airline that brings in an infected person. That might make them stop the flights.
thought it was never coming in, then it was one incident, then protocol was broken when another gets it.
Close the damn borders and bring the troops home.
And we learn this from foreign press. Our media is completely controlled by the government. How long before they shut down the internet?
Yes.
You can probably count on your hands the number of hospitals in this country that have respirator-contained isolation equipment for general care (as opposed to limited supply in research areas).
When they say CDC guidelines, they don’t mean level 4 hazmats.
They mean standard droplet and contact precautions.

...wonder if they hope to spread the disease
Well, if they wanted to, would they be doing anything differently? And if they did not want to, what would they do differently? But, the governors are mute; most of our elected leaders are mute; most of our doctors are mute. The 3 a.m. call has been placed; no one answers. It’s only us powerless citizens that apparently care. You see, you can’t spread panic because massive panic is much worse than massive death from the disease.
A major grocery chain here in Houston has plastic “mitts” available at gas pumps. I’ve never seen that before. I’ve read that gas pumps are the most contagious place you can touch.
Send all those infected to Border isolation facilities and require all immigrants be housed there for 24 days at their expense prior to entering the country.
2 problems isolated in one action.
The hospital isn’t accepting new ER patients because there isn’t enough staff available to do so.
That’s what the doc said at the press conf.
